Im really stuck to which subject i should go to im yr 11, what kind is considered easier and how much do they differ in skills ect. If i want to do physics i would need to drop history this year and go to unit 2 physics in semester 2

They are completely different subjects. If you are interested/good at maths/science subjects do physics, if you like writing and are interested in history do history. Physics scales slightly higher, but in terms of difficulty it really depends on the individual.

Are u serious pick vis com!!
Nah seriously, pick physics if you think you are good enough to be able to handle it, its really interesting, maybe not yr 12 but definitely when you get to uni level, well thats what my physics teacher told me. Otherwise pick Rev's if your not too great at physics, really depends on how good you are at each. Also, I think the concepts of physics are much harder than rev's (im basing this on the assumption, you might continue this in uni)

seriously? does everyone here already know mikee65? or is it because this is posted in the physics forum that everyone's promoting physics?

1. what are you interested in doing after VCE?
2. are either of these subjects a pre-requisite or middle band subject? (assuming you are wanting to go to uni/TAFE)
3. what are your stengths / weaknesses? (are you more suited to humanities or sciences? if you're good at both, look a the study design for both subjects, in particular the key skills, and see which one you think you're more suited to)
4. which subject do you think you would enjoy most?

Pick Physics if you like theoretical maths/Science and don't mind being bored to death at times.  Pick Revs if you enjoy getting killed by massive stacks of books and enjoy learning some fascinating History.  That's basically what it comes down to.  The scaling/difficulty for both is roughly the same - Physics is a LITTLE bit better I guess, but the 40+ scores are dominated primarily by Asian Five geniuses from what I've seen.

Pick Lit.  :p

I presume that the depth of understanding needed to do well in Revs would far surpass that of physics. In Revs, you need to formulate your own ideas to stand a chance at a 40+. If you understand the basic concepts in physics, you'll be fine.

Physics is fascinating at a more advanced level though. :)

That depends on the person. Understanding physical concepts can be a lot more challenging than formulating ideas about history for some people.
