Some good causes to fund raise for?

Hey guys,
So I'm in the school senior council team, and this year we haven't had that many fund raisers, I want to organize a fundraising event, but I'm not sure on what causes to do this for. What have your schools fund-raised for, or what causes do you think are worthy to support? Also what activities should we provide to gain the sufficient amount of money to give to these causes.. I was wondering maybe a casual clothes day, what do you guys think?

All suggestions are appreciated.

Casual Clothes Days  work best (by giving a gold coin donation)
Fun runs?
40 hour famine?

There are plenty of foundations you can pick, just have a little google.

Definitely agree with Casual Clothes day but as a rule of thumb (well for my school anyway)
We make the Casual Clothes Day on a Tuesday since we can remind them to bring money on Monday whereas the rest of the days feel too far away and Friday will just be rowdy :P

Raise funds so that your school can buy ATARNotes Study Guides for all their students, I will bet all the money I have in my bank account that your school's median ATAR will skyrocket this year.

A truly worthy 'charity' that does some amazing work with money going directly to those in need, as opposed to lots of other organisations that have hefty overhead/admin costs
