How often do you do these things in medicine course?

In sem 2 (I can only talk for first year right now), once a week dissections and once a week prossections.

whats the difference between working in hospitals and public health btw?

This is a complex question, which requires a complex answer - you need to do your research.

Public Health is pretty much a career in policy making, research, government advisory...etc. It is essentially a "desk job" where you will be looking at the population and factors which affect the health of the population. It pretty much will include things such as public health policy, epidemiology and biostatistics. Generally you won't have to deal with "bodily fluids".

Most other careers in medicine - whether you're working in a hospital or in a private clinic, you'll have to come across "bodily fluids" - if you know what I mean.

How often do you do these things in medicine course?

Once a week, sometimes once a fortnight - but yeah, pretty often.

Dont be scared, you do it in a group anyways. And as Vegemite mentions, you dont have to if you dont want.
But yeah, if you wanna do bachelor of medicine/surgery, you need to confront with it.

Well like i said, not every med program involves dissections. If you really dont want to do it. some unis interstate dont offer dissections

You'll have to deal with it eventually, I wouldn't change med schools for it. It's also really easy to get desensitized too as well

Just wondering:
if you do a double degree in biomedical sciences with something else and it takes five years, do you have to complete those five years and then be able to apply for grad med?
And did only twenty something students get into MD at Melbourne uni from bachelor of science last year?

1) Yes, you have to graduate even though you've done all the pre-req subjects.

2) I'd imagine it'd be more than twenty something.

Depends how Monash works it I guess, if you get to graduate with your BSc when you actually finish it then you could probably drop out of the other half of the degree and apply.

Twenty something sounds about right based on the percentages I remember

1) I don't think so, when I was thinking of Biomed/eng, I think the biomed finished first and I would get that degree if I dropped out of the double.
