Way too early is it not?

I think I might start beginning of September. Besides, we haven't covered all the content of the courses.

do some trial questions on chapters you've already completed so that you become familiar with the style of questions. Don't stress over not having finished the course yet. do what you can and come back to what you can't do yet once you've completed that stuff. However, save doing complete VCAA past papers for later [unless it's a maths - there are heaps you can find for maths and even if the course has changed slightly there are only a certain amount of different ways the can ask the same thing! :)]
good luck :)

I met a girl in state two weeks ago who already finished 35 practice exams for methods.

that's because for methods you learn everything in year 11 and then year 12 is just going over it :) it's the same situation at my school. As there are hundreds of methods papers you can find and do :) That's the good thing about it! :D

Ok this is definitely not true. Or at least not at my school. I didn't know about 90% of the stuff that we've covered this year in Methods before we covered it.

Really? In my school we did pretty much everything in year 11! :) But then again, I'm at a private school so things may work a little differently than at your school :) I don't think there was very much new this year that we hadn't seen before. We just spend a bit more time on the topics than last year

haha  don't stress there's still plenty of time.
you don't want to completely deprive yourself of everything or you'll be more likely to burn out
everyone is different so naturally, everyone will be ready for trail papers at different times.
just do what you need to and don't stress :)

Anyone feel the same? Anyone not? How do I recover?
I'm massively feeling like this, it's especially coming from my results for the Physics and Chem exams.  I didn't do aswell as I'd hope to, but whatever, nothing I can do at this moment will change it.
I guess the massive hindrance for me finding the motivation for me to continue with my studies, it's gotten to the point where I've forgotten to submit work on time and rehgjkrehg.  Stressful!

But don't worry guys, ~10 weeks to go.

It's just that... I don't remember feeling like this last year. Lack of motivation, procrastination, apathetic... Thinking to my ultimate goal does give me some motivation for a short amount of time... then it all goes away. :(

Also, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to uni or not... I'm sick of all this high school shit.

Hey, don't worry I think everyone's feeling the same at the moment, i know i have - but remember that its only normal. I have come up with a number of solutions to combat this feeling of "burning out" and procrastination.

1. Think back to all the work you've put in this year and ask yourself if its worth dumping it all away
2. Revisit the "why's" - why do you want this? I suggest fantasizing about getting 90 + and imagine the great feeling that will concurr with the sucess
3. Remind yourself that its not about "being the best" but "giving YOUR best"
4. Humans have three basic needs: physical (diet and exercise), psychological (mental well-being) and social (having fun with people). Make sure that all these needs are met because if they're not, then doing well becomes a challenge. Make sure you have a good sleeping time (i sleep from 9:30 till 6:30 during the week and 10-7 during the weekend NO MATTER WHAT), good exercise (i walk to and from school and go gym for an hr every saturday) and a healthy social life. Contrary to popular belief, going out once or twice a month in year twelve is NOT the end of the world. As for psychological needs, try to meditate and think positive.
5. Procrastination is a killer. here's how i combat it:
- i physically write down and answer these three questions: = Where am i and what am i doing? (e.g. i am on my desk watching youtube videos to try to pass time.) What do i "want" to do? = I would love to write up some psych notes. How will I feel after doing it? = I will feel SOO proud of myself. By physically answering these questions, research shows that your procrastination is half way gone.
- Next i write down five things to do: e.g. unpack school books, open up psych book, write heading, highlight key notes, write down key notes. The key to getting ahead is first getting started.
- Finally i ask myself, do i want to watch a silly youtube video OR get a 90 + atar score?
- AlSO always try to reward yourself when you combat procrastination.

Honestly, you seem like a higly motivated individual - relax, chill a bit - do the things you LOVE and you'll be fine :) Wish you all the best!

If you are truly burnt out don't start trials , trust me, do something to calm down and get back on track then hit the trials, you will hit it harder than you would otherwise and if you fail one you won't drop even further (imagine burnt out + trials + other VCE stress + fail = ?).
