Tutes - cancelled

Today was the last tute. With consistently low turnout (not anyone's fault, probs just timing) I don't think it's worth keeping them running. Thanks to everyone who's turned up and ran the tute, you guys kept it going for a while. But unfortunately, I don't think formal tutes are a good option anymore.

If you guys want to have a chat about chem, you can add each other on Skype - just go to the Skype convo that the tutes were in and add the other members in your group.

I'm sorry. Maybe I should have made more of an effort.

Don't be ridiculous, you went out of your way and did more than enough. I'm pretty sure everyone appreciates it a lot.

Why do you say that?
We are all thankful for all you did.

The tute is great and it helps me a lot.
Before this tute started, chem is an interesting subject for me but it was not my fave subject

Joining the tute, I understand more about concepts in chem and have lots of fun, which I assumed I only found in maths
If this tute didnt exist, I wouldnt have got full mark in chem SAC

and in the end, thushan's chem tutes face the same outcome as my physics tute - all in all though, I think the issue stems from a multitude of other issues, timing is a minor issue, but the greater issue would be dedication. many students in year 12 take many many (some up to like 15 hours) out of their week in order to go to tuition, so I don't really understand why 2 hours more out of your time to skype into this tute would have been that much of a hassle - but that's the nature of these things.

it's sad to see this stop, but members of atarnotes, remember that you had your opportunity to learn from a somebody who attained a premier's award in chemistry, topping MUEP chem as well as a silver medalist in the international chemistry olympiads who took time out of his week to run these for your own benefit whilst not more of you could have just taken a few hours out of your week to appreciate what he did.

those who actually knuckled down every week and rocked up to the tutes, i'm sure you would have found them great. anyways, thushan, you're a great man.

This Saturday was the first one I was going to be able to make! :( But seriously thank you so much Thushan, the logs have been an amazing help, made me think of all these questions I wouldn't have gotten from doing my pre reading just from the text book. They were great while they lasted :)

Aw rats! I feel bad now.

Hmm. I'm really glad that you found the tutes helpful...I have an idea.

Before the exam, say the week prior, during your SWOTVac, how about we have ONE MASSIVE SKYPE SESH. Go through the ENTIRE course, and bombard with questions? One session. Big. Bad. Awesome. Exciting. How about that?

This could potentially work out as a good thing or a bad thing. My advice to chemistry students is to work as hard as you can before the skype session because you don't want to feel overwhelmed with content that can sometimes appear new to you/ forgotten to study it. Thushan, the whole AN community appreciates the time you dedicate to helping others on this forum :)

Announce the big session early enough, so that we have a good turnout.
