Hi I was wondering what marks would I need in Exam 1 and 2 for methods to get 40+.

You'd be hoping to get a little bit over the A+ margin. It's hard to tell exactly what marks that will be for this year, but you can check out the grade distributions of previous years on the VCAA website.
