What improvements would you like to see in Resources Threads?

So, for those who don't know, AN has plenty of resources threads.

Just a shout out to the members of the forum:
1) What improvements would you like to see?
2) Which similar threads would you like to see created?
3) Do you have any links that you feel need to be added in a thread?

For those lost so far, here are a few examples of what I'm talking about:
UMAT Resources, Information and Links
Specialist Mathematics Resources
Mathematical Methods CAS Resources
Chemistry Resources
Physics Resources
IT Applications Resources
English Guides, Sample Pieces, Tips and Resources

And there are many more in other boards too, all of which will look uniform soon.

A few clarifications for the answers to those questions:
1) Mention the specific thread you are talking about
2) AN does not endorse the uploading or linking of copyright or illegal materials
3) Resources threads are community initiatives. The mods can maintain them, but we depend on members for contributions and additions. Community helping the community is what it's all about.
4) If you say we need something, say why as well.

The aim of this thread is to get people thinking about improving some of the major threads of the site, to raise awareness about them, and to get the contributions rolling in. My theory is, if you've gained something from AN when you were in VCE, it wouldn't hurt to write a helpful detailed post to give something back. That's why I and many members in uni are still around here :)

many of the links, throughout many resource threads are dead.
e.g in the methods resources, for ' miscellaneous sac resources' , the link is:
http://vce.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,11798.0.html

it needs to be edited so that the 'vce' at the start is removed ;)
2011: Biol - 42
2012: Spesh |Methods |Chemistry |English Language| Physics
2014: Physiotherapy

I fixed the ones I could find :) Post up more details if there are more :)

Thanks for the suggestions!
- Good idea *looks at people do study those subjects*
- What do you mean? I think there are massive banks of questions if you look through questions people have in threads or look to the AN Study Guides
- We have a few:
General Advice - Secrets to VCE Success
Paul's Year 12 Survival Guide in 1000 Words :)
What did you have in mind for more? What are those threads lacking?

Thanks so far :)

Is there a VCAA resource thread? We should link everyone graded distributions, information on normal distribution curves and standarised scores and tell them how to predict their own study score. (Actually not a bad idea for a VTSD thread. Might get on that when I have a lot of procrastination to do.)

That's a great idea!

I think we'll try to get something like that integrated with Guide to how Study Scores and ATARs are calculated!

If anyone wants to make a contribution to brenden's suggestion, post here and you will be credited on the thread, in the mean time *adds to to-do list*

With the English sample essays section, maybe separate them into categories
e.g Text Response, Context, Language analysis

Then have links to different types
e.g Branch them off to individual texts for section A, the four contexts for Section B

Then for Section B branch it off to different styles of writing (i.e expository, persuasive, and imaginative)

Or maybe separate them into score ranges, e.g low, mid, high range responses. or e.g 8s,9s,10s (Although this idea may be flawed as i'm pretty sure all essays on that thread are 8+ standard :P)

Just a suggestion though. I think it would be more easier for students to find what they want instead of having to scroll through the whole thread trying to identify which essays are relevant to them.

Hard work pays off. If you don't think so, you're not working hard enough.

^Do you mean alterations to the contents page? (it's pretty much impossible to move around the posts within it)

Yeh, cause the links on the contents page kinda don't work. When i click on one of the essays, it just takes me to the page that its on, not the actual essay itself. Sometimes gets annoying cause u still have to scroll down to look for it. But that's just me being a bit fussy :P

Have you tried the links recently? I thought I fixed them all (plus updated the list) a few weeks ago :/ If not, would you be able to copy the names of the links that don't work properly, my bad haha

The idea od splitting up the contents page more is a logical one that I like, will look into it :)
