English has the most enrolments, further maths comes second and the third is psychology.
Maths Method is the fourth.  :)

Legal Studies and HHD would be quite popular too.

Grade distributions contain the number of students - http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/statistics/2011/statssect3.aspx .

It's also somewhat funny to see the gender imbalance in some subjects. Software development has 1000 men and 98 women. There aren't enough women available for them to even be placed on the grade distribution graph. As someone who did IT:SD i can confirm it is like that..

Happy hunting.

So interesting to see some of those numbers; at my school we have 7 Chemistry classes and 5 Accounting classes but only 1 class each for BM, PE and HHD which are all more highly populated. It's a diverse state. Also did not expect VCD, Revs, Food Tech and Studio Arts to be so popular, I think we have 1 class each with barely any students. Is Design and Tech a Textiles type subject? I cop a lot of crap for doing Media from my friends but it's interesting to see that it's in the top 20 haha.

Would expect Eng Lang to break in, more schools (ie. MHS) seem to be picking it up, and it's growing to be more popular with 'Asian Five' students.

Just annecdotally, Eng Lang is on the way out. My teacher was fairly involved with the VCAA people and there's been a lot of talk about scrapping english language and rolling a lot of the topics covered into mainstream english in 7-10 and tiny bits in VCE. Apparently no other state has a subject similar to it either.

Quite sad though considering it was an absolutely fantastic course.

ESL is similar to Eng but its easier

omg, EL is one of the most awesome subject ever!!!!!!!! I still remember when I did it in year 11, I've never had any homework :D
Don't have to do lots of assignments, don't have to study or review too much before the test
I wish every subject is just like EL :P
