MAV vs Derrick Ha?

Hey guys I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend.
Which lecture would be better for a lower level student? From the reviews it appears to be that derrick ha doesnt focus much on the whole course and basics and is better for higher level students, do you think she would be able to gain from this lecture over MAV?

tl'dr which one is better for someone who is kinda struggling in methods? does her assumed knowledge have to be high to be able to gain from the derrick ha lecture?
