So Apple removed Google Maps in iOS6 and replaced it with their own shitty version. http://www.theage.com.au/technology/technology-news/apples-homegrown-maps-leaves-users-lost-20120921-26a9b.html

  • No SD card - Why should I pay a hundred dollars to have more storage?
  • No removable battery
  • No bluetooth file transfer / NFC
  • No widgets
  • No quad core processor
  • New connector that is simply for $$$
  • Pretty sure still no FM radio
  • Still forced to used iTunes
  • No home screen - I have an app drawer as well on my GS2

Yet people line up for the iphone5? What does it bring to the table?

It's not what it brings to the table, it's their clever use of marketing and advertising.

I agree in the sense that Apple have figured out how to exploit people's stupidity.

You'll never convince the apple fanboys using facts, my friend. I know from experience.

Solution: Jailbreak and change everything so it looks and works nothing like an iPhone; like I have.

Got a Nexus atm and the Android OS is a clusterfuck
It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

Got a Nexus atm and the Android OS is a clusterfuck

What don't you like about it?

The UI lag.

All the UI glitching that happens around the place. (e.g. the UI for my messaging app screws up every other time)

The call log bugs (dials person Y when I selected person X)

Reception bugs (when I have full reception but everything directly goes to voicemail)

Bluetooth bugs (music skips when played over bluetooth)

Phantom SD card mounts/unmounts

Slow, *SLOW* transfer speed to computer

Dodgy wifi tethering (loses connection every 5 seconds)

Lack of accessories (you try finding a good functional case like this one for any Android phone, and don't invoke the "you can buy a motorola defy if you want waterproof" argument)

...I could go on.
And this is not just my phone (Xperia S, ICS), but across the board for the Galaxy range (S II, Nexus, S III), the HTC range, etc etc.

The only reason I remain on Android is because it's cheaper (and when I signed the new contract in April, iPhone 4S was beginning to become obsolete). An open-source, advanced mobile OS is an excellent idea, but there are some fundamental design philosophies in Android that I disagree with (UI priority, music playback priority).

Holy shit, i'm going to buy an Xperia S (probably) how is it?

People buy it because its an apple thing and it says something about the person that owns it. If everyone just sat down and looked at the specs, we'd have a whole lot less owners but thats not how the world works.

Everything just "works" a whole better (getting equal though now it seems) and not everyone cares about hardware/open source/whatever. They just want something good, easy and fashionable that just plain works. The app store still kicks the shit out of the android alternative too. There are only 3 or 4 varieties of iPhones they have to deal with. There are hundreds of different android handsets that developers have to deal with. Either you make your app underpowered so everyone can use it but its shitter than it should be or you make it require a lot of juice and not everyone can use it.

I'll just leave this link here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNxDd3l0lEU / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJafiCKliA8
