You'll need around 97.5-98.0 as a minimum to get a Monash interview, but that gives you pretty low chance of scoring high enough with the interview to get a place offer. The higher ATAR than 98.0 you get the lower interview mark you will need, due to the 33/33/33 weighting.

Well done. I would say 98ish will get you an interview, and 99.0+ will give you a very strong chance of getting in!

Hello!
I got a UMAT of 91% (62, 58, 61 - Total: 181)
What are my chances for Monash and UNSW if my ATAR is 98.5+

I did miss out on the first round interviews for UNSW as I could not supply a predicted ATAR + my school is known to predict them really badly.

Also my friend got 96% UMAT and is looking at 97-97.5 ATAR - chances?

BTW we are both from NSW if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any input :)

Hey guys
Im very confused as to how everyone knows how to calculate their scores. Do I just add the percentage together??Somebody please help figure it  out. Also what score should i aim for to get a chance to be considered for say at UNSW???
I did an acer practice test and this is what i got;

Logic and Reasoning : 17/48 ( ik its extremely low) ---percentage 35
Understanding people: 41/44 ( i think this is good) --percentage 93
Non- verbal reasonning: 20/41 ( low again ) ---percentage 49

Total or overall : 35+93+49=177
Correct?
Also how do you calculate percentiles???

Thanksss

You can not calculate percentiles as those are dependent on how other people do on the exam. For example, if section one was very very tough your 17/48 may actually be considered a ‘good’ score and you could receive a high percentile if everyone else does terribly. It really just comes down to those around you. Also, the way ACER calculates your UMAT overall is very tight lipped.

I’ve heard however, that a 180/300 is roughly a 90th percentile while a 200/300 is a 100th percentile. ^this may not be accurate.

Thanks! So the higher the percentile, the better the chances??

You’re pretty much guaranteed an interview anywhere you apply with a very good shot at gaining acceptance provided you don’t screw up.

Hello I was wondering what are my chances (if any) of getting into medicine. Here are my scores:((
S1: 41, S2: 43, S3: 49, total: 133, %ile: 24
SEAS for 3 categories
Expected ATAR: 98-99
Thank you!

Unfortunately, your UMAT is too low to be considered for any UMAT-dependent undergrad med schools, even with bonuses. However, you can still get into JCU and Bond (if you have the money), as they don’t look at UMAT. One other possibility is Griffith provisional MD via USC, which had a cut off of ~99.35 last year and is only based on ATAR.

Can we get into the extended rural cohort only nd only if we are rural? How rural do we need to be?
PM me for Methods (raw 46) and Chemistry (raw 48) resources (notes, practice SACs, etc.)

I also offer tutoring for these subjects, units 1-4 :)

No you don't need to be rural to apply for the ERC, but you do need to be rural to apply for the Dean's Rural List to enter Monash medicine (if you're non-rural, don't worry about it)

Hi guys, I am new here and I was devastated as I thought I was doing very well in S3 - which then could bump up the %ile - but I only got 58 which was really out of my prediction
I got 74 % (165) all above 50, which uni should I apply for.
Do you think there is a chance if I submit for remark?
Thanks guys

Hey, guys,

Finally got used to my mark and the scolding I got from my dad  :-\ , but I was hoping I still have a chance for some uni. I got a 84% (62/52/60) and am non rural. Which unis would be willing to accept me for if I got an ATAR in the low 99s? Thanks!
