Go nuts what do you think?
Be frank. Say 'sex' don't say 'playing hide the sausage' for instance. :P

Note: No catcalling, wolfwhistling, inappropriate comments here. Flirting and pickup lines - OK to a limit.

My christian ed teacher a couple of years back was quoting someone:

"Guys play at love, because what they want is sex. Girls play at sex, because what they want is love."

Some stimulus material here for discussion.

I think it varies between individuals. I know that A LOT of people want sex. I also know that I don't want sex in a relationship at all in this point in time.

I always wonder.. do guys desire the sex more than girls or are girls just more quiet about it..?

As a guy, I do believe that guys would rather like to have a hot dog with their bun. Additionally, with some mustard, ketchup, fried onion and cheese, those would be very lovely.
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

If you want to discuss sex and gender differences then go ahead, but don't drag this thread down into MSN level chat/stupid posting and try to keep it relatively on topic.

My physics teacher once said "Animals require 3 Fs to survive: Feeding, f*ing (sex) and another f (cant remember)".  As a human being, do we have to have sex in order to survive?

Individually, no but as a whole, it is needed for reproduction purposes but other than that, I reckon people could survive.

Survive yes. But I reckon, personally, that sex is a very helpful and powerful entity that can bring a relationship ever closer intimately, when used appropriately. So whilst it is not essential, it is very helpful. But it's like fire - it can also be EXTREMELY destructive when misused.

The health benefits of sex are highly numerous too.

Might slip in a little joke here that came out of no less than my neuroscience textbook - the sympathetic nervous system's functions can be described quite succinctly with the four F's: fight, flight, fright and sex. :P

Although there would be a large degree of intimacy in relationships. Some of that could be made up, and for some there is not even any intimacy in sex, but there would be an irreplaceable loss.

Artificial Insemination! Sex is redundant for purposes other than pleasure and intimacy!

Kazdawg would like to know what people think in terms of approaches to relationships. Would you rather be friends with someone before dating them? Or would you off the bat go for it and make your move? Does it depend on how cautious you are? I'd like to think I'm somewhat reserved and cautious in that respect so I would definitely friendzone before going any further.

Also, how old do you think you would get to before you compromised on your 'list?' Do you have such a 'list?'

LOL btw, I will totally claim to being the instigator of the old thread "What A Girl Wants" at the end of last year. I think I made a thread about what people were planning on doing after finishing exams and then somehow the convo turned to that and it got split LOL

^^ I'm the same with being cautious. I'd hate to go headfirst into a relationship only to find that the person is not what I thought they were. That would be scary but I bet there are people who prefer it the other way for the thrill of it.

Hmm. That's an interesting question. I say that because you don't know what the girl wants, as a guy, especially when you have no experience of being in a relationship. Often, the advice one gets is "if you're interested in the girl, make a move quickly otherwise you will be friend zoned."

Which leads me to my next question. What the F**K is a FRIENDZONE!?
