Hi,

Just wondering, does anyone know the difference between:
- point mutation, gene mutation and chromosome mutation?
I have a feeling point and gene mutation are the same thing... hahaha, not sure though.
thanks!

point mutation is when one base is changed from the expected sequence e.g. AGG CCC GGG would become ACG CCC GGG it could occur anywhere along the sequence

gene mutations: havent got a clue

chromosome mutations: i have a feeling its the translocation, inversion, polyploidy stuff

Gene mutation is the general term given to the change in base sequence of DNA. Substitution, addition or
deletion are such examples
