What should I do?

I have a lot of unanswered questions about my course path, and I have gone to my arts faculty and they have been unable to help me as there is no one there to advise me of my options at the moment. I am completing the Bachelor of Professional Communication at Berwick, with a major in PR. I was looking into transferring into the Bachelor of Arts, as I have an interest in doing Psychology at Clayton as Berwick's one isn't APAC accredited, but I heard you can't do PR unless you remain in the Professional Communication course and I wanted to know whether this were true and, if I did transfer into the Bachelor of Arts would I be barred from actually enrolling into PR units (I only have 5 to go)?

Thanks

Have you tried the careers counsellors at the Clayton arts faculty office?

Public relations subjects are only offered at Berwick and Gippsland campuses - http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/handbooks/aos/public-relations/

Aside: Monash should consolidate their degrees, there are at least 12 (single) degrees with "Bachelor of Arts" in their title.

Yeah I contacted the arts faculty at Clayton and they said that I could still complete PR units in the Bachelor of Arts but they would only count as electives. What I don't get is isn't the same thing? Like, am I still employable in PR after I finish my degree having done all the units required for the major anyway?

I'm guessing that means it doesn't count towards a major?

Book an appointment with the careers counsellors and speak to them about this face to face. They're very helpful and will be able to draw you a proper diagram of how your degree will work out.

Course advisor, not careers counsellor.

Your transcript (afaik) only says your major or specialisation and thats it. So, maybe they're saying, it'll be written you majored in pysch.

Doubt it'll mean much though, you can explain in interviews/applications you pretty much have a PR major too.
