City Library on Flinders Lane is a pretty good place to study, if State's not available.

I usually don't find noise an issue - just put some music on and drown out the noise, I can study on the 1st floor of Hargrave Library during peak time (which is noisier than a shopping centre) with music on so yeah, it solves the issue of wanting silence!

I was at Hargz and it was really quiet on my side of the first floor, I was there from 1-5.

I love how this was all bout study locations, and now its almost a debate on whether some school is good or not!

State library is awesome, peaceful and quiet, and has an aura of academia

Not peaceful and quiet at all. Lots of people tutor there and they talk quite loud. I swear today I sit at the next table and still hear everything a guy tutors his student maths ==

There are quiet areas as well but you have to go earlier because its very hard to find a seat there

Monash Caufield library is open much longer, during the exam period last year it was open 24 hours i think. After hours they have a right to ask for ID though.

Monash libraries are pretty good, if you want dead quite, upper levels of matheson are good. Even the bottom levels of hargrave in the "quiet" areas are pretty good, i'm amazed how quickly the noise levels off.

Local library (i did this, works pretty well).

You could try going to like a starbucks or something i guess but you'll probably need to keep buying coffee.

It's a mostly common sense security thing.

Makes sense too, if we have tonnes of non-students taking up space, it isn't really fair on those people who actually are monash students.
