(seriously JMSS kids are the worst, they act like they own the place...)

Lmao, they're not even that bad! Like they just use the library like anyone else, I just think when you're in uni, anybody in school uniform annoys you!

Umm, in all seriousness though Monash's opening hours aren't great on weekends either, only Matheson Library is really open at practical hours, I think Hargrave opens at something ridiculous like 1PM. But yeah, your best bet in the city would probably be the State Library, City Library or one of the libraries at the UoM, RMIT isn't too bad either.

You don't happen to own a MacBook by any chance, do you?

LOL! I don't even see how their huge school bags, battered maths quests and tacky year 12 jackets even annoys you, just saying, but I do agree, the last part is just not on, shouldn't be making assumptions about anybody, also shouldn't bag anyone because of their degree. You should have went up to them and had a chat to them, would have been hilarious.

Well, it's just their overall look that annoys me :P I'm probably based against them though, but it does seem that they try very hard to "stand out" from uni students whilst in the libraries.

Yeah, one of the third years pulled out a steth afterwards and shut them up haha :D

Maybe it's the MHS & JMSS rivalry!

All the JMSS study at Monash libraries because they don't have their own decent library or any other proper facilities (seriously JMSS kids are the worst, they act like they own the place...). Monash libraries have some very quiet areas which are great for studying :)

I had to make an account to say this, so here it goes:
I am a JMSS student, and I feel that what you are saying about us is really ill-considered. We don't go to the library to piss off Monash students. There are a lot of dedicated students who want to do well and it is just convenient that people study at the library due to many reasons. Some live quite far away and it is just convenient that they study at the library so their parents can pick them up at a later time. They can get more study done. Also, we are part of the monash campus, why should you treat us any different? We have the rights to use the monash facilities and people shouldn't have to complain because of it. We can all agree that the facilities are gold, and we aren't spoiling it so it shouldn't have to be a problem for anyone!
When you say that we act like we own the place, it's kind of ironic because you kind of give off the impression that you, yourself, own the place.
Maybe we have a few dicks who that may talk shit in the library, but there are dicks in every school with such radical opinions, so why specifically narrow it down to jmss? There are so many nice people at our school that you have never seen, how can you just generalise everyone as being rude?
and really? Tacky year 12 jumpers? is this what ALL your hatred for JMSS kids comes down to? us having tacky jumpers? they're freaking awesome! :P

I am sorry for the rage mail, but I am honestly quite frustrated with this whole issue.

What rivalry LOL, MHS hands down? Yes.

(not that I would know, having gone to Laverton p-12)

Re: X_x, I appreciate you making an account and I wish it was because of a less hurtful note, but I am not without reason.

Maybe you're correct and not all are bad, but all I have come across so far are. And it's not just talking shit that's the issue, it's the way they behave too. Just jump onto any 601 bus when school's out to see some of the most inconsiderate teenagers form what is considered a "top tier" school, it's honestly disgraceful.

Also, no-where I said they don't have the right to Monash's resources, I know of the affiliations. But what I also know is that these constitute of douchiness:
1) bagging people based on their degree
2) clogging up public transport when they could place themselves in a more efficient manner (ie. take off school bags?, let older people have a seat?)
3) wearing Monash Med hoodies when you're in school
4) clogging up the library when I honestly believe uni students should have the priority, especially when our exams determine our employment and are much more important than yours'
5) being loud is designated "quiet areas"
...and I could go on, I haven't even touched on the godlike presence of JMSS in other areas of the campus :)

And I'd the the same if any Monash uni student acted the same way too.

and really? Tacky year 12 jumpers? is this what ALL your hatred for JMSS kids comes down to? us having tacky jumpers? they're freaking awesome! :P

No, that's just one of many issues. And no, your jumpers do look tacky.

I didn't stare at you? :\

Lmao, but yeah, do I have the right person? :P

You had glasses right?

Hahah, I don't agree that the issues you have stated are limited to JMSS students, like you're just having a go at them because they're conveniently around. Out of your points, this is what I have to say (and I have no affiliation with JMSS so I'm completely neutral on the issue):

1) That is bad - I agree with you, but like I said, defs not limited to JMSS students
2) Again, I have been on the 601 and other buses like the 900 around school time and yes, it is crowded, but seriously it's not even that big of an issue, it's a 4 minute bus ride, geez, just chill.
3) That is stupid - but then and again, I haven't seen that :P but I'll take your word for it, if it's true, that is bad
4) I don't think uni students should have the priority, they have just as much right to use the libraries as we do, I have never seen a time when the library is so full that it is impossible to find a place to study, like seriously, this is just being picky now.
5) Hahaha, I see many loud uni students in quiet areas too.

LOL School has nothing to do with the length of skirts. Its individual's choice

Great post! I agree. I think JMSS students' behaviours are not "the worst" (only minority)
Met few of them at DH's revision lectures and they were very friendly :)

To some extent, but when a majority of people within a School choose to express themself in them same way it becomes a culture. And, yes, I agree that it is each individual students' choice to choose whether to conform to peer pressure of how to wear a uniform. Some schools have students who wear their uniform with modesty and some dont, and thats their culture.

I think the JMSS 'culture' is to annoy Monash students and attempt a takeover of the Clayton Campus. That is all.

EDIT: Xpression thanks to P<3
