All good. I'm not too sure myself, it would be great if OutstandingDivination can predict this one as I am curious to know. I'm guessing 25-30

Hey guys, I just wish to say I'm incredibly sorry for coming across complacent and cocky if I did, as it was not intended. I know things happen in the real exams that are unplanned or unexpected so the nature of predicting study scores are difficult. But I would just like to say a few things.

1. I'll admit that I have not done a three hour exam before (have only done a two hour one), so I'm kind of daunted by the prospect of writing for three hours straight with a sore hand  :-\, even as a reasonably good English student, this is uncharted waters for me. It's just that English is such an important subject, as I love analysing ideas and themes so it's a subject I put a lot of effort to and hopefully be rewarded. For a couple of English teachers at my school their median student score is above 4o, and one teacher even told me he has never had a student that got below 35.

2. I've legits put my heart and soul into teaching myself the conceptual framework of the 3/4 methods curriculum, so that I get a really good understanding rathner than rote-learning concepts. Obviously I can't predict what happens in exams as sometimes 'shit happens'  :(, but I've done a couple of practice exams with similar scores as per mentioned. I'll be a little crushed if I didn't get a really high score like 48.

3. For Spesh and Economics I do have a couple of grey areas in the 3/4 curriculum that I need to patch up on, before I get those scores per mentioned to be honest. I looked at some of the Spesh exam papers and got a minor heart attack from some of the questions they asked. It's just that I have to do really well in Economics because I CAN'T rely on Chemistry in my top 4, even though Chem is probably more related to my future expectations, plus I have a really deep interest in Economics so much I even started reading it in year 10  :P.

4. I'm really sorry for implying that scores 40 or above could be considered a 'worst outcome' I just didn't really know any other way to put it at the time, but lets just say 'not the most preferable outcome for me'. Yeah I know a score of 40 is by no means bad, and that most students would kill for one. I do not take a score like that for granted especially having already done a ¾ this year Revs where I would consider myself extremely fortunate and would be over the moon if I get a 42 (don’t think I can get any more than that). I’m even kinda prepared to get sub 30s in any of my subjects lol, and I’m actually super nervous for my results, I’m not actually confident at all (crying all the time about it :'(). I even think about repeating year 12 sometimes and all the subjects I didn't do well in. I just feel that that my future in weighing in the balance of those four subjects, as the MAXIMUM score I could get for my other two subjects Revs and Chemistry is 42. Revs 42 might actually happen hopefully, whereas a Chemistry 42 is more like a pipeline dream, but one can work hard and hope  :).

Once again sorry to all I have offended in any way.

Once again sorry to all I have offended in any way.

I think you have misunderstood my post; this isn't about me, this is about you. Please don't read this as hostile, I'm just a little bit concerned for you!

I'll be a little crushed if I didn't get a really high score like 48.

I don't think anyone was offended in the slightest by your post, just concerned that you were placing unreasonable standards upon yourself, and causing unnecessary stress before even commencing year 12. The difference between 45 and 48 is all but negligible in terms of ability, study practices, intelligence etc.

Dropping one or two silly marks is all that it takes, so setting yourself up for intense disappointment if you don't fall in the top 0.5% of the subject cohort is perhaps a little unreasonable. You really ought to consider your own wellbeing during the coming year - certainly try your best, but don't lead into the year feeling that every SAC will profoundly affect your future, and that any mistakes will shatter your dreams. I've seen people adopt a similar mindset, and have significant issues with anxiety and stress during the year as a result.

I’m not actually confident at all (crying all the time about it :'(). I even think about repeating year 12 sometimes and all the subjects I didn't do well in.

This is what I was referring to, you haven't even begun year 12 but you are experiencing all the symptoms of excessive stress and anxiety derived from towering expectations. I have pretty high aspirations myself, but I have yet to really experience any emotional issues, and certainly not so far away from the exam period. I just don't know if such a high level of stress is sustainable (thanks psych 3/4 ;)), and want to make sure that you don't fixate so strongly on 50s that you burn out before really being able to reach your potential.

Anyway, you know yourself much better than I do, but if you think this word of warning has any truth to it, perhaps give it a little thought :)

Good luck!

Edit: reading over this again, it seems pretty overbearing - it is really none of my business. Please excuse that :)

You are quite right. Probably a 26-28. The C+ cutoff was approximately 125/300 for GA3 last year, and the median for physics is usually a B (cutoff 159/300)

While I do post mere predictions here, they are not guesses. I put a lot of thought into each one using data from previous years. No stabbing in the dark, since that can be misleading.

High A+ In both unit 3 and 4 SACS (So an Average of 95%+ in SACS across the year) and probs no more than 8-10 marks lost in the exam.

48/60 is the cutoff for a 40, and people on this forum have achieved a 50 with 57/60 in the past.

just in relation to this,a guy i know got 50 with 56/60 (top ranked at mgs)
