You would want to become an academic first, so for example lecture for chemistry. Study Bachelor of Science, major in chemistry for your undergraduate then do postgraduate honours/PhD/masters - I'm not entirely sure the process after that though.

You want to major in your desired field and then progress up to PHD status/writing research papers, etc.. So to answer your question, there is no single course that solely leads to lecturing.

A few. 3 year bachelor degree + 1 year honours + 3 or more (often more) year PhD, so 7 would be a minimum. You may need to factor in doing a masters too.

Also while you are doing honours/phd you can also tutor at university (you can do it also while your in undergrad as well but you have to be exceptional)

You will need degrees (and interest) in what you will teach, you will need to be an expert in it and know all about it to teach it obviously!

So, if you want to lecture chemistry, you'll need your undergrad degree in chemistry, then either honours or masters, then PhD. Even that isn't a guarantee. You might have one or two supervisors lecturers training 20 PhD's who all want to be lecturers themselves, obviously, we only need one or two of these to replace the one or two above, not everyone can win.

The basic is to do something you really love and really want to work at.

It would depend upon what area you are aspiring to lecture in. Like for instance, if you're aspiring to lecture in say, teaching, then you would enrol to complete a bachelors in this area, then work your way up through masters and PhDs to become an academic.
