Whose Reality Memory Ideas

Hi all, I am just curious if anyone has some interesting examples that would work for "whose reality" in regards to memory??? I really don't want to bring in psychology as I find that the essay won't stand out from the rest of the students who will be using their psychology knowledge in the exam.  If I do reference something to do with psychology I like to then link it to a novel, historical example or real-world examples. Any ideas????

our memory of past events can be based on what history says

however, history is written by the victor (or rather by the survivor) and so is not always accurate.

For instance, the Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the events that led to the Norman conquest of England, was created with a distinctly Norman viewpoint, glorifying this French perspective while diminishing that of their enemies, the English

Similarly, the history of the colonisation of Australia was written by the settlers, undoubtedly biased against the Aboriginal viewpoint
