How do you feel after an Exam?

The title is self-explanatory, personally, when i come out of a writing based subject where you don't know whether what you have answered will be well-received, i tend to feel quite shit and go over everything i didn't include.

For example, today i wrote 6.5, 5 and 5.5 pages but i keep worrying that i didn't include enough+i forgot to include a really good outside source for  context.

I know you can't change the past, but it is interesting to see the different emotions and reactions when an exam is over.

Generally I like to have a small discussion about it so I know what type of grade to expect and then move on and hope for the best. Worrying isn't going to help at all imo :)

For me it's stages.

1. Go out of the exam room (hopefully early)
2. Walk home
3. Look at my workbooks to see if i have made any mistakes and then think to myself if I have why the heck I left the exam room early.

4. Think to myself "now what do I do now that i'm free"

I'm pretty sure you'll do fine. I'm pretty sure all in the '_azza##' series will do fine.

After exams I usually don't feel much to be honest.

Well today's exam: Wrote about 3 pages, only a one full essay the rest were half intro's. My essay was really shit, no real good evidence or any quotes and I couldn't explain myself. How I felt during like absolute shit and wanted to commit suicide. Walked outside of the exam and got there as fast as I could to avoid everyone and in doing so I broke down into tears, I was so guttered and disappointed, never felt this low in my life

Have you been writing about 3 pages during doing your practice exams in that same time frame? Or was this just a 'one off'?

Normally okay. Terrible today. Broke down crying as soon as I finished, never written worse essays in my life :( so disappointing when I've put in so much work over the past few years and always been an A/A+ student. If I get a 4, 8 and 6 for the exam with A and A for GA1 + GA2, any idea what I'm looking at?

Guys please don't get preoccupied with thinking about how you went on the English exam. You guys still have the potential to do great if you focus on your other exams :)

Plus it's a bit premature to despair when you don't know for certain what you've got. Many people (including myself) have the tendency to be harsher on themselves after an exam than the examiner is. Not that I'm doing English or anything, but still, there is a chance you've done better than you're giving yourself credit for.
(That being said, I'll possibly have to try to stop myself doing the same thing next week if I'm unhappy with lit...)

Think about what you did well! That's the great thing about 'writing subjects', the examiners will focus on what you did right, not what you did wrong. This is what'll stand out, after all.

But in my situation, I am 100% sure there's nothing at all great with my essay it was horrible I'd be lucky to walk away with a 2/10

Take it from someone who goes through your exact reaction after most essays, you did not get a 2/10. I know it's hard to believe but there will definitely have been positives about your writing, be it the articulation or the ideas themselves. Especially if you didn't write much perhaps you did that little bit very well?

And most importantly, there are more exams to come which are just waiting for you to blitz them (:

Nonetheless some people on AN have already sealed in a 50 for English. Maybe they are reading this now.
