Bound reference useless?

Am I right to say that students who have achieved 40+ in the past in methods are not likely to have even touched their reference material?

Is there much of a point making a perfect one?

Any "tips" or "special" formulas to include in it?

I am aiming for at least a 37/38 in methods and 40 is a possibility .

Through making the bound reference is great study alone, ingrains everything into your mind.  While you might not even need it, there is a possibility that it will come in handy for something you 'forget' on the day.

I never needed one, or the formula sheet for that matter. I just bought the textbook in just in case.

If you dont want to waste time making one, at least take in your textbook. I mean, it certainly can't hurt your performance. The worst you can do is not use it.

I pasted shit over the credits/index/answer pages at the back and front. You could do that if you want. Long as its stuck down well.

I'm just going to take in Derrick Ha's book because I honestly cannot be bothered making one!

I didn't even bring one to either my Methods or Spesh exams and I found I did OK, like there wasn't any times where I really wish I had it, neither did I ever feel that it was necessary. Have a look around the room during the exam, you'll see some bound references on the floor, never touched, whilst you see some people who flip tirelessly through their books. I find that it's a little indicative of how well they end up performing.

Those who used their bound references less tended to perform better, of course, probably because they knew their stuff better and were more confident. If you have time, I suggest you practice and review rather than waste time making a bound reference that is very unlikely to help you.

Can we look through the bound reference during reading time?
Thanks

thanks for all the valuable replies and experiences!

I have a reference book and i consider it adequate. I am just contemplating if I should take in my textbook or just my bound reference?

I doubt I need it as well like most of you...

You should bring whatever you feel that will help or benefit you the most in the exam

Hmm, I agree with Paul. If you've studied well enough, you don't even need a bound reference.
As for myself, I just got my Jacks notes bounded at officeworks for free :D. I'll bring it in but I HIGHLY doubt that I'll even look at it during the actual exam.
