What did you guys say for the one with teaching the parrot how to talk? I think i just lost 3 marks because of that :L
For the method to teach it.. Shaping.

I applied shaping also. Mainly because I've always associated shaping with being a useful method for animal training, and it seemed to fit. It was such an ambiguously worded question though imo.

Shaping came to me straight away but when I saw the word elements for some reason I decided it was observational learning...

Wow, I think it was kind of difficult coming up with teaching a bird how to 'talk' :S i suggested vicarious learning coz i forgot 'shaping' was a type of learning and then went on to say "reinforcing it everytime it did something closer to the desired behviour". i mashed like everything up. OH DEAR ):

I did operant conditioning...so the stimulus is the guy saying hello, the response is the parrot saying hello and the consequence is a reward...

breaking out of the egg (behaviour not dependent on learning)
then...
screeching when the door opens when she gets feed (classical conditioning)
then...
shaping and rambled on about that haha

Key difference between trial-and-error and insight learning?
Trial-and-error response time gradually decreases; insight solution is performed immediately? Was that it?

i said trial is always on a conscious level, whereas insight has a moment of unconcious incubation where the answer is resolved. im not quite sure through...

Yeah I started writing that but then I saw the word "key" and I felt like that that difference wasn't clear enough, but that's still a difference so I think that's right

I said shaping for the parrot one and crapped on about it..
For the trial and error/ insight i said that with trial and error it is done with error or something to do with that. and then insight i said its usually done without error the first time the solution is tested during verification.. Idk my mind blanked and I couldn't think of anything else.. do you think this'll be accepted??

That's what I put. I think it seems the most logical.

Do you reckon we needed to put examples like excitement and anxiety for the eustress/ distress question?
