I did operant conditioning...so the stimulus is the guy saying hello, the response is the parrot saying hello and the consequence is a reward...
I DID THE EXACT SAME THING!
Isn't shaping used in behaviours which are difficult for organism to produce naturally, e.g. a pigeon turning full circle. Whereas repeating words is normal for a parrot. So I think you are right with operant conditioning..

Do you reckon we needed to put examples like excitement and anxiety for the eustress/ distress question?

Yes I reckon you should have. I did.

Shouldn't make a difference, it just said explain, didn't say explain with reference to an example. I didn't use an example, I think it should be alright though...Hopefully!

I doubt you would lose a mark for it though.. but just in case, cause examiners can be evil sometimes.. what did you say for eutress/distress?

I just said operant conditioning for the parrot... I assume they will mark it correctly as shaping is an application of operant conditioning regardless. At least I hope so

What did you guys say for the question that asked whether the results can be concluded? Also the benefits of using a classification system?

I wrote that Eustress is a POSITIVE psychological response to a stressor and distress is a NEGATIVE psychological response to a stressor (with the capitals haha).

What did you guys say for the question that asked whether the results can be concluded? Also the benefits of using a classification system?

Do you mean the ER or the one with the graph? I'm curious about those two questions too. I wrote that classification is so they can devise a suitable treatment plan and for the second point I couldn't think of anything so I wrote so they can communicate information about mental disorders to the public.

Benefits

It allows mental health professionals easier communication in regards to the patient
Shows high inter rater reliability that is...if one psychologist diagnoses depression the other is more likely to diagnose the same so
there wont be any confusion about the persons condition.

Oh Oh guys

with question 10,
What were your answers?

question a) said that her sample was biased and not a true representation of a wider population as it was selected via convinence

b) i said no conclusion can be based from this study due to 1) being a convienece sample not a true representation of a popoulation. 2) no inferential statistics such as the p-value, hence a conclusion cant be made :)

Conclusions can be drawn, but no generalisations can be made, it's important to explain that.
