I know! I basically no-lifed the weekend plus a few days before solely for focusing on hard concepts.. I actually stressed myself out soooooo much. Somehow VCAA always finds a way to do something that pisses people off.

Remember, just because everyone said it was easy, doesn't mean they've all done well. I had a friend who said the midyear exam for Bio was super easy, and then ended up with a D, so yeah...

Still disappointing that they barely covered any of the good stuff though. The short answer questions for mental health were really bad...  All it covered was classification, Lazarus and Folkman and eustress and distress  >:(

i think it was tricky in that it was so focussed on a few topics e.g. 3 marks on reflex actions lol, 4 marks on classification systems and 4 marks on transactional model, and then research methods SA Qs along with a research methods Sec C. was less than ideal for my strengths haha. oh well

How would the 3 mark reflex question be allocated? Definition, example...and what?  ???

Yeah I was unsure what they were after for the third mark, I just wrote that it wasn't species-specific, but another point could be that it aids in survival.

Mmm, I said it wasn't confined to a species and inserted as many descriptive words into the definition as possible. The number of lines for a simple definition and an example really threw me off, like there was a whole component to the question I just didn't see. But of course it seems like everyone just wrote a definition and an example so it doesn't matter and the marks will balance out anyway if there was something extra we were supposed to include.
*end worried rant*

I did
-definition of reflex
- example
-pointed out the stimulus and the reaction from the example and tied it into the definition. Was strange question lol

Yeah, especially since there isn't that much to "explain" about a reflex action

Last years end of year psych exam was also quite easy but the A+ cutoff was only 74 and I would say the two exams were on a similar level of difficulty so the exam was probably easy but not as easy as people make it out to be

Wow, and to think that some of us here were worrying about when cortisol was released in GAS..... it had like ONE MC on the GAS and that was it.!.. SO FREAKING PEEEVED. Trying to understand all the difficult concepts made me blank out on the simplest ones like classification.

I BET THAT WAS VCAA's PLAN.
Get everyone to be so fixed on mastering the hard topics and then BAM. Bring in the easier topics that people wouldn't have focused on as much.
..Now that's how a true villain works
