At the moment I'm more scared about the Change of Preference period..

My Dad is really adamant for me not to do Biomedicine and pursue something else like Pharmaceutical Science or Pharmacy, which I obviously am not planning to do. But I've heard stories about people's parents getting into their VTAC accounts and changing their preferences without them knowing, which is really dog.

Make sure and change your password before the change of preference period? xD
Why pharmacy? I thought the job market in that field has gone down the toilet =/

Yeah, I'm changing it just before in case.

Dad and Gran think Pharmacy is a good back-up career in case I never get into medicine and won't listen to what's really happening with the field at the moment. Typical narrow-minded Asian parents, who think that they're right all the time, can't change that.

That would be a particularly low act if any parent did that. Although I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if a few parents would think it's okay to do something like this. There are parents like this out there.

Knowing my parents, they would probably change my preference as far away from Med as possible :P I'm fairly sure if I got accepted into med when my time came they would stage a protest.

As for this year, I'm in two minds about Monday and my revs result: Interested to find out where I stand, yet terrified to look at the score

Umm, I'm confused? I thought parents loved Med? O_o
My parents would never wish it upon me or any of my siblings, because they know we're wusses and can't stand the sight of blood, but can't see the reasoning behind why other parents dislike it ?

Don't change it beforehand. Change it the last day.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the VTAC system on the last day of change of preference. It'll be going slow as hell and I wouldn't be surprised if it crashes. I'm probably going to get my changes in early (if I have anything to change) and then probably just check it every day out of paranoia to make sure everything is set perfectly how I want it.

Im so lucky, my parents don't even understand what a study score of 40+ is, let alone VTAC. They just want me to do what i dream of doing (within reason of course, bye bye dramatic arts, hello double degree in nursing/midwifery. Which is also a awesome option i want to do) haha. Im doing this for myself more than anything, to prove that if i try hard enough i can achieve anything. Corny and cliche, true, but im really looking foward to getting out there.  ;D

I wish everyone the best of luck, come monday! Just being on this site proves you care about your education and are going to get a decent score. And for the parents who hack into their childs VTAC accounts, shame on them. Let the kid do what they aspire to! makes me mad!
what a year it has been, thank goodness it is over, bring on a new chapter!

How do the parents figure out their kids VTAC PIN number though? If you didn't do something silly and obvious like your birthdate or 1234, then it should be relatively hard to guess.

Seems reasonable. :)
Well my parents want me to do law/ something English related because that's the one thing they missed out on. :P Seems fine in theory, although I'm terrified of law. O_o

Haha yours are opposite to mine. They just keep reminding me to choose domething more practical. Not med but something that can actually help people like nursing for example.
