hey guys. Ive had youth allowance throughout vce and still do but it got suspended today because i havnt reported my parents income yet(it will be back up once I do). Last year my friends seas for melbourne was accpeted and got an email saying she had got early access the day that the atars came out, so I'm just wondering will melbourne uni know ive got youth allowance or am i screwed??

P.S centrelink opens on monday 8am & results come out at 7am :(((

Prinnce, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that with all they have to co-ordinate, UniMelb would be up to date with your specific details.

Also, if the details for SEAS you provided at the time (of the closing date) were accurate, then that should be all that matters. Your hardship during the time you studied is the only thing that is relevant to your VCE results, and given that exams are over now, any changes in your circumstances that happen shouldn't affect whether or not you get SEAS. i.e. if you have Youth allowance up until exams, then you have been financially disadvantaged during your course of study, and that's all that SEAS takes into account. (I hope I've made sense...)

So IMHO, I think you should be fine.  :D

Also, youth allowance is meant to stop as soon as you finish year 12 since you aren't technically 'studying a course'.

If you go to centerlink and show that you are 'intending to study; you still get youth allowance over the holidays, then once you get the offer you go back in and show them that you're in a course studying.

Although I don't think it will impact your SEAS, I'm pretty sure you can update those details online now? Or is this still a part of your initial claim, rather than updating it?

Yeah it's like 3 months (I think it's 3?) where you can have intending to study before you have to update it to either not studying or the details for the course you will be definitely studying.
