Different science options

Hi all,
Instead of attempting to hijack a bunch of different threads which it seems I may inadvertently be guilty of, I thought I would start a thread of my own to get a bit of advice/evaluate my different options. I want to be studying science next year, majoring in either chem, math or both. I guess I have a slight interest in engineering, but I'm definitely leaning towards science.

My options so far seem to be:

1. Science at UniMelb, only perks being guaranteed post=grad position and small cash grant for studying abroad. No scholarship.

2. Science scholar's program at Monash. Does anyone have a definitive answer whether I could be offered a scholarship  (got 99.75) or whether there is one included with entry into the program?

I have been offered an engineering excellence scholarship to monash which is 6k a year if i do any of the engi double degrees or straight engi, but I think the motivation to do sci/eng at monash is purely financial.

Optimally, if Monash is likely to give me a scholarship for studying through the science scholar program, this would be my current preference. Otherwise, uniMelb seems quite enticing...

My questions:

Could I contact Monash regarding what would be on the table if I enrol in the science scholar's program?
Is anyone able to shed some light regarding their opinion on the scholar's program if they are currently or have in the past studied under it?

I really apologise if any of this is coming across as pretentious or anything...I bloody hate discussing this sort of thing, makes me feel so awkward. But this information isn't exactly laid out in black and white anywhere.

Thank you for any insight anyone can offer.

I am almost certain that there would be a merit scholarship attached to the Science Scholars program at Monash (but please confirm, it will only take one phone call). It would be something like a $6,000 pa bursary for 3 years.

Personally, I would  not be swayed to changing preferences for that sort of money. You should only do the Monash Science Scholars if it is your preferred option amongst your available options (money aside)
