Ouch. Rowville had a median of 27 and only 2.9% over 40.

And only 62% apply for tertiary places. :(
Haha don't worry about it!
They recently opened a Maths and Science academy (my cousin in the program and loves it except she tells me that the mainstream kids dislike them LOL). But in a few years time the median should rise for Rowville I guess...

Thanks! :) It was this one but this morning there was also one for comparing the school from 2003-2012. But thanks!

It's on there as well, just choose the "compare results 2003-2012"  :)

My school had a median of 27, 2.6% above 40, and we had only 98 people across year 11/12 doing 3/4's   8)

Interesting to see my old/previous school came 2nd, interesting  ::)

Are these raw or scaled study scores?

They are raw.

On that note, do you guys think they should be ranked by raw or scaled 40+s? (not talking about the 40+ high achievers lists, just the rankings)

Personally, I think scaled is more fair, as that balances the difficulty of all the subjects.

Thoughts?

Definitely should be scaled. Isn't that the whole point of scaling anyway, to accommodated for how difficult it is to get 30 compared with other subjects..

Scaling accommodates for the strength of the cohort doing the subject not the difficulty of the subject

In most cases, that's the same thing?

Wow!! The median study score at my school is 27, last year it was 29 and year before that it was 28. Only 1.6% of students recieve a raw above 40. It's funny because my school is a private catholic school and my parents sent me there because they thought it would have been better in terms of education. However, my old school, Princess Hill - a public school has a median atar of 32 and 11.7% of students recieve above 40 raws. I don't think my chances of recieving a 40+ raw is looking good as well. :S

Work on getting rank 1, then your cohort will barely affect you if you have the skills/knowledge :D

Yeah this. I was rank 1 in 3 in my top 4 subjects, definitely helps as then you're only relying on yourself come exam time.
