44 seconds? Dayum son. I kind of assumed it would be über bright or something, is that what the neutral density filter is for? I remember poking around google ages ago on how to do ultra-long exposures without blowing them out and i think thats what came up.

I might install CHDK later and play around with it, it's hacked firmware so you can take the camera from  2048s* to 1/60,000s , no idea why cannon turned that stuff off in the first place, seems like a good feature to me.

I used ND to keep the light level down. I can actually stack Variable-ND over CPL  to achieve 10 stops of light down.

Do y'think a variable ND is worth it? Apparently the image quality isn't as good as stacked NDs

Since it is christmas and all, i guess this photo is mildly appropriate (and perhaps interesting to some).

It's the Gospel of Thomas. It's not found in any standard bible to my knowledge. It was discovered it buried in a jar in desert, lost for the better part of 2000 years. It's also by far the best translation of it i've read too, so if you're interested and dont know ancient coptic, it's worth a look.

As i said, i don't really have any fancy equipment or anything. The candle looks nice but it also provided a nice, warm, orangey glow too (remember what i said about improvising).

Macro shots, nice crisp ones, are another personal favourite of mine.

Aaaand now in colour

Not sure if i should crop out the candle or not, i usually don't like to edit my things.

I prefer the colour one. The candle draws my attention more than the writing though but if you crop it out it would look silly.

Didn't have a DSLR at the time, so these photos may are of pretty bad quality. These are from back in year 9-10, when I had enough free time on my hands to run a website. *sigh*

and mind the celebrity pictures- only high quality images I could find at the time which were ideal for experimenting with. :P

Haven't shot anything in several months but my most recent work;

Really should get back into things - but lost $800 worth of lenses ages ago and can't afford to replace 'em :(
