Pathways into Optometry.

I scored a bad atar but I still have enough to get into a Bachelor of Science at Deakin. I was wondering If I maintained a HD Average ; would it be competitive enough for a transfer position into bachelor of vision science.  Or should I do a year of science , transfer into  a bachelor of bio-medicine. If I finish that degree would it be more plausible to apply for a masters of optometry. What pathway would improve my chances.
