Thanks Reus

Feeling a bit better now, still shattered. Going to ease up for the next couple of days, probably talk to the wellbeig person at our school. After that I want to get to a point where I'm, instead of shattered and sad, hungry and angry, to prove my teacher wrong. And how does she know that those people at the top don't work hard??

I had another teacher tell me a similar thing last year. That talent beats hard work. But I disagree.

Gawd yearr 12 LOL

If the Anime naruto has taught me anything its hard work always beats natural talent.

"Hard work beats talent when talent isn't working hard"

ty

This couldn't be more true!

There was this one kid in my methods class last year who never did anything as in he didn't even bring a book to class or anything. The school threatened to fail him but didn't due to his average sac score of 97% for the year. This year the work ethic has improved minimally but he is also averaging sac scores that are barely a pass.

I guess i am saying that everyone reaches their capacity at some point. Whether natural talent or simply intuition towards a subject, there will come a day where this runs out and effort needs to be applied to succeed. In the end your deeper understanding of topics derived from hours of study, will prevail over gut instincts.

For the first time this year I'm feeling a bit down.

For one of my subjects this year, I've been doing great. Really happy with my results, and I've worked my absolutely ass off to get them.

For this particular subject, I want to get to a level where all the top kids are at our school. So I asked my teacher how to get there, and she reckons that those people at the top, are those that don't have to work hard to ace he subject, and that they get everything naturally. They aren't like me, someone who does more than just the homework, and gets ahead 3-4 chapters before we even start a topic.

Feeling really shattered, this is a subject I really like, an had the belief that I could get at least 38-40. Feeling as if I'm not good enough because I have to work hard, and I'm not natural.

What an arsehole of a teacher!
Seriously that is SO wrong. Hard work is the number one key to success. The journey is merely facilitated by being a genius. No one is born a genius. Seriously Rod you're working SO hard and I hope you prove that teacher wrong! Chin up buddy!

I had a teacher in year 10 math who told me I wouldn't get over 40 for Bio and Further if I did both in year 11. LOL

Stasiland SAC today for English, weow  8)

I feel as though I'm ready. Probably could have done some more practice pieces but didn't really have time because we missed all these classes, but oh well. You can only prepare as best as you can given the circumstances you're in.

My God the weather is nuts!!

I don't even wear my blazer as well if I can avoid it, as it feels all itchy and everything and affects my direction of thinking when studying.

So you can imagine how I felt...

English SAC results tomorrow, even though I am an atheist I will pray to the Gods for a good score...

I completely dread the waiting time for results...

So happy my English SAC is over! Absolute relief and now not motivated to do anything for the rest of the night, haha.
Two good topics to choose from and I'm glad my teacher doesn't want us to use TEEL because it definitely would have restricted me.

My SAC wasn't perfect but definitely happy with my ideas and how I went about it  8) I felt as though some of skills I've learnt in Lit this year really helped me today
