Sat down this morning and did my first ever timed practice exam for Literature in exam conditions - 2 passage analysis essays in 2 hours + 15 min reading time.

10 pages later and a destroyed hand, I just finished. I couldn't finish it in the time though - it took me 2 hours and 10 minutes of writing time...

For you literature people, how are you going with the time limits? - I'm hoping come exam time I will have sped up enough to write and finish in the time.

Oh that's awesome - I did my first English Language practice exam as well this morning. About time considering I've done plenty for my other subjects. I actually survived and wrote more than I thought I could.

Already the last day of first week of school holidays. I'm happy with my progress so far. Would've liked to have written more for English Language but I've got plenty of time next week.

I finished my one at school with 5 minutes left.

I have done no study today at all because the party set up is taking so long. I know I need a break but I sort of regret wanting to have a party with so many decorations because it's taking so long to put them all up..

How on earth did you do that - huge respect haha

Can't write all I want to say in the time limit - it's just too much of a struggle atm.

I did a few practice timed ones before the one at school over the last couple of weeks of term and I was struggling with timing. I told my teacher that I wasn't saying what I wanted to say, and he told me it is impossible to say everything you want about the passages within the time limit. Remember that there is only so much you can do in 2 hours. Even the top Lit students in the state don't get to write about everything they want in the time they have, so pick what is most important and lends itself to a unique but valid interpretation, express yourself clearly and you'll do really well  :)

Hi all, sorry to hijack your thread but I just wanted to empathise with this sentiment. But keep pushing through with EngLang - do the exams part-by-part if necessary - and I'm sure your results will speak volumes about your hard work. :)

Best of luck!

Perseverance is all I can say for you, anna.xo. Hopefully you get through as much as you want.

For every person feeling unmotivated, depressed or just feeling down about yourself out there, I was just watching the video on here: http://www.wimp.com/mirrorchanges/ and would recommend it.
It takes a while to get to the point, but take your time to watch the whole thing. (Unfortunately, it seems I keep finding stuff directed at the ladies, but I think the guys of AN will find this video helpful too.)
Note: I'd get your tissues out before watching this. It's such a heart-warming video.  :)
