i wouldnt recommend studying too much for your 1/2s.
i almost completely ignored my 1/2s while studying, because of the importance my 3/4 held for the unfolding of my future. dont waste your time investing in something that really provides you no value. and if youre concerned that you will fall behind in your year 11 subjects as the year progresses, what i recommend is that you become a metaphorical sponge during class time. Absorb as much info as possible in class, so you barely need to study for them come test/exam time. and if that still doesnt really seem to help you, you could always catch up during the end of year holidays bfore year 12. dont stress :D this year is actually fun :) you get the responsibility of having a 3/4, so you feel all special, yet you're not doused in heaps of work :)

In contrast, the teachers at MHS tell us not to concentrate on our 3/4s too much especially if we're doing Spesh, Chem, Physics. Apparently some year 11s this year did that and will be struggling in year 12 because of it.

This is considering we do just one 3/4.

Yes, please don't neglect 1/2s. Especially Chemistry. So many fundamentals are built in year 11...

if physics starts to pmo next year would chemistry be too hard to pick up in unit 2 or is it do-able?

omg! yes i totally agree. DO NOT NEGLECT CHEMISTRY NO MATTER WHAT?!
i did that this year, and now i have to spend my summer holidays catching up on all the chem work that i didn't do, which just happens to be key knowledge for next year!

Yeah, keep on top of Chem, it certainly makes it easier come year 12.. Try and maintain a "summary book" for each subject. Every week or every time you finish a certain topic. Write down some notes you can use to revise later on. That way, you can jog your memory when you look back..

But I find that this is especially important with Chemistry. I'm doing a lot of revision which ideally, shouldn't be necessary. It's okay if you enjoy it :) But you could be doing other things with your time.

how late is the latest you can enrol in a DECV 3/4
You can enroll pretty late, the closing date is 15th Feb, but you'd want to get in earlier than that (otherwise you'd be a week or two behind in work). http://www.distance.vic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/School-Based-handbook_2013.pdf

Yay! I love you class of 2014!! You guys are amazing.

I did two 3/4s this year , it was hard managing with 1/2 Subjects. I neglected accounting so bad.

for chem, its extremely important to do as many questions as you can ( especially the mole concept, god i hated that) I had an amazing tutor ( I can pm her number , but she has a mega long waiting list and only takes 60 students in year).
Methods , I guess , you have to keep ontop of it, cause its the same for 3/4.
Eng lang, loved it, everyone should do it.! Isn't much of a workload!

Good luck ,pm any questions!
