yours truly here c:
and i swear to the lord, i've been doing 1:30am allnighters b/c of two 3/4s.
welcome!
many macrobbians \o/
I'm terrible at managing time too, I somehow get more done at school/at the library than at home.
And my sleep routine is screwed up too, I take naps when I get home until dinnertime then I study till like 12am.
its kind of really bad.
I'm need to fix it.. maybe I should try and sleep, now.

Just force yourself to sleep at say, 11ish? Because unless you have something due the next day, there isn't much point continuing on. You're better off just waiting until tomorrow to study!

I thought I was bad because I go from 4 to 10:30 with only a dinner break in the middle. You really should be making the effort to get 8 hours of sleep guys - no excuses.

:) I'm doing two 3/4s and all I can say is that I'm actually surprisingly doing well at allocating adequate time for my 3/4s, whilst ensuring my 1+2s are not neglected. Organisation is the key to everything - it is imperative you devise a list of everything you endeavour to complete in a given day or so, and work accordingly. For instance, (I am not aware if your school gives you study periods), I complete a lot of my homework during the study periods. Upon coming home, I rest from 4-5, and then begin homework. I do some quick revision for my 1+2s and complete any necessary homework until 7. Take a 10 min break. from 7:10 - 9:20 I do any Biology homework and a lot of Biology revision. Take a 10 min break. From 9:30 -11:00, I finish off any Further Maths revision, and go to bed. This is a standard weekday. Of course, if I have an upcoming SAC for one of my 3/4s, my whole day is devoted purely to revision for that. I also devote about three or four hours to studying for any of my 1+2 SACs.

Weekend:
The weekend revision for me is purely devoted to Biology and Further. I just do some much revision during these days because its a great way to consolidate the ample information (especially in Biology), as well as assuage my stress/anxiety that I have done insufficient work.

Study for any SACs - all my Biology SACs are on a Monday, and many of my Further Maths SACs on Wednesdays, so you devote the day before the SAC purely for that subject.

Wish you all the best and I hope the tips I've mentioned do assist you!

Same - my first SAC, Movement across the Membrane, was delayed because the teacher believed that no one in the class other than a few were aware of this process, and so our first SAC is on the 18th of March. Cannot wait to start Enzymes + Biochemistry!

No excuses.

Seriously, if it wasn't for a good 10 hours every night, I would've burnt out 18 months ago. You can still maintain a fairly intense routine but something has to give - and a good sleep is the best possible thing you can do to give your mind a break. It's not good enough to say that you sleep 2 hours every weeknight and then 16 hours on the weekend; you need a regular and rejuvenating sleep pattern. Try to think of sleep as an important part of your study timetable, and not as something that can be cut down.

Mainly I'm just working on getting out of the habit of sleeping in the afternoon.

Why not be active in that time? For example, force yourself to go for a run? Do this for about a week in that 1-2 hour time slot after school that you usually reserve for sleep, and you'll find you're no longer sleepy in the afternoon.

Seriously - the opposite of remaining sedentary is doing something physical. Just apply this logic and you'll be fine  :)

After a week, stop running and use this time for homework instead (only if you want to - I would personally advise you to get into the habit of jogging, but only because it works for me haha).

I think in VCE, do whatever works for you. I'm not going to post and tell people how they should be sleeping etc, whatever works is fine. I would recommend having at least 6 hours though, just to maintain good health.

However, when it comes to uni and "real life", you may need to fix your sleeping if it's too wayward (unless you are TT). But there are holidays to assist with that transition.
