It sounds like the general consensus is  that chemistry a terrible subject. This leads me to my point.
I am in year 11 this year and I am still unsure about choosing economics or chemistry. I am doing much better in economics , average 85% whereas chemistry (70%). With this being said, I haven't put all my effort into either subject, however I still desired success. Now, I enjoy both subjects, probably chemistry more so. Which subject should I pick? which subject will be more helpful in the future? Will economics assist me in a commerce degree at Melbourne?
I am unaware as to whether this is the correct place to ask this question, however, I just saw everyone talking about chemistry and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get advice from those who have completed chemistry or even economics.
Thanks very much, any response is appreciated!  :)

Economics is probably the most interesting Commerce subject (never experienced Business at any stage, so can't tell) there is. It is very applicable to the 'real world' whereas subjects like Chemistry (I did 1/2) didn't really interest me because I don't think what I was learning was all that useful: personally, I don't think Chem is going to benefit a Commerce degree whereas a basic understanding of economic principles will help you (which you would have learned in 1/2).

Also, the content in Eco is not very difficult - you just need to be able to make connections with different concepts, and apply it to the current economic situation, in 3/4 Economics. And from what I heard, 1/2 is very similar to 3/4. So yeah, definitely give Eco a serious consideration.

Can someone tell me in LOTE subjects with the written component, it asks for 200-300 words. If I was to go over, say 350-400, would I be jeopardising any marks? I've lost marks in SACs for the same reason, but I don't know whether it is the case in the exam.

Not penalized at all. They aren't allowed to take marks off these days, as per the VCE General Advice Bulletin from this year:

Quote
Each VCE Languages study design and examination paper includes an expected length of response for Section 3 of the written examination. This is expressed as a word range or as an approximate number of words. The expected length of response is an important guideline, given the amount of time available in the examination. Students will not be penalised if they exceed the expected length. When responses for Section 3 are assessed, the whole response is considered against the assessment criteria. While penalties are not applied for exceeding the expected word length, it is important that responses are carefully planned and address the question selected.

However, they do reward concise writing that reflect a student's skill in the language. So I guess writing 400, although not instantly punished, would probably lose you a couple of marks because it just wasn't necessary and possibly took your time away from the other sections. It happens to me, mainly because I don't really need to think when I'm writing German so I end up writing as much as I would in English in the same amount of time.

Ditto on job recommendations..especially for someone with zero experience. On that note, would anyone mind taking a quick look at my resume ? Would really appreciate it :)

Hah well it has to be fuel efficient too. So I'm stuck between medium-y girly cars and full on girly cars. Doesn't matter that much anymore I guess haha since like noone will see it.
