To watch later or as they're happening?

They are not streamed as they are happening. They are meant to be a substitute if you cant attend. If you cant attend, it wouldn't make sense to stream them live because you'd still miss it hey :p.

They are recorded. If its anything like Monash, most are a screen capture of what the projector puts out + audio from the lecturers microphone. If either of these things aren't operating, it wont be recorded. For example, if the lecturer decides to use overhead slides instead, you wont see these. If their mic is left on the desk, you might not be able to hear as well.

In future, ask questions like this in the University of Melbourne forums where you're far more likely to get a response - UoM General Chat .

Try anything in hospitality, especially any small business that looks to be privately owned . You're far more likely to have flexible shifts in hospitality rather than retail. I'd use retail as a last resort if you need weekends only.

But..do you really want to be working during the weekends if you have a full on uni timetable ? Where are you going to fit in time for your uni studies ? Don't spread yourself so thin that you have to scrimp where it really matters, and remember your priorities. Good luck and let us know how things go :)

Getting hired to work only weekends is going to be relatively difficult if you are aiming for basic retail, as you are competing against high school students who can be paid less. This starts to be less true if you move into more specialized retail to some degree, electronics stores etc.
Alternatively you could go for something that requires you to be 18. Working at a restaurant etc that serves alcohol is often a good start.

Best chances are overnight jobs however they don't really work too well with uni unless you have very few contact hours.

Have you tried contacting a few private tutoring companies such as Elite Education Service? I think they are looking for some VCE tutors. Also signing up for tutorfinder might help  :)

I'm not, but it's free and easy to advertise in your signature, and you could advertise in the tutoring section of AN. ($40 a year).

I haven't actually, mostly because I just don't know any private companies. And also, don't private companies only hire based on your marks ? I didn't do super amazing or anything, and since the majority of people seem to think a high SS = amazing tutor, I don't really know if this is even worth pursuing :/

All good, no one owns this thread ! I'm not really keen to tutor english, just because I don't have a passion for that subject and I don't think I could lead you to success. Sorry about that, but I'll message you anyway :)

Also, on a side note, is anyone here good with technology ? My phone just broke tonight and now I need to buy a new one (or save up for a new phone haha). I had a Sony xperia for about 5 months before it broke, and a HTC desire z for about 2 years before it died. I'm starting to get sick of all the issues with Android phones and thinking about just biting the bullet and buy an Iphone ? Any thoughts/suggestions/tips/comments/etc are more than welcome !

Iphones are the shizzzz! I've been using iphones since year 9 and to be honest they are the best phones I have ever used. You may see numerous people with smashed screens but if you take care of your phone, the glass is unlikely to smash (having dropped my phone on concrete a few times, I can assure you that it doesn't break as easily as it seems).

It's always cheaper to buy Iphones outright if you're thinking about purchasing the ones with less storage, being the stingy person I am I have done the calculations to compare the cost of monthly plans to buying it outright with a prepaid plan (the latter ends up cheaper majority of the time)  :P

When it comes down to whether you should purchase an earlier edition i.e.. Iphone 4, Iphone 5 or Iphone 6, I would recommend going with what you're going to use your phone the most for. For example, if you're looking for something with great camera quality you are better off purchasing either 5 or 6 (both seems to have practically the same pixels, Iphone 5s are much cheaper too), Iphone 4's camera quality is so crap that I can take better photos with my 5 years old samsung.

But if costs aren't really a concern, I would definitely recommend Iphone 6. THEY DO NOT BEND UNLESS YOU PHYSICALLY BEND THEM (just like books will fall apart if you rip out the pages one by one). Iphone 6's are super light weight and everything works smoothly, I've never had one problem with it. They are supposed to be much more durable than the previous editions too  :)
