Hi can I just ask, where is everyone getting all their questions from?? Is it out of orientation hw or just getting ahead/reading through the text book?

Hey I've got one

which group of determinants of health is the most infuential on overall health? Justify your response.

Definitely not an exam style question
Each determinant is equally influential as they are all interrelated
However, the physical dimension is the easiest to measure
VCE 2012:

Chemistry (33),
Methods (34),
Biology (35),
English (36),
Health and Human Development (48)

ATAR: 91.60

thank you, I was a bit confused and

ok so i didn't do unit 1 and 2 so I'm a little confused on how to answer these types of questions

explain 2 ways that each of the following could contribute to variations in health status among individuals and population groups
(a)obesity
B) Hypertension

(how much information do you need to put in, how do you structure the answer)

thanks so much for your help its amazing !:)

I'm also confused on how to answer these types of questions

my q is
suggest ways that chlamydia could contribute to variations in health status among individuals and population groups?

thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so you will need to know about chlamydia in detail for this
You could possibly talk about chlamydia weakening the immune system leading to higher rates of other conditions.
A more likely question would be linked to talking about the dimensions that would be affected by an individual having chlamydia [e.g. physical, mental, social]
Or accounting for variation in chlamydia rates between population groups using the determinants [biological, behavioural, social]
Make sense?

thanks

Because it refers to health status, talk about an indicator such as mortality and morbidity rates, life expectancy, incidence, prevalence and use those key words

Here are some things obesity can cause [health] that you can use to link to health status:
Obesity -
1. Increases risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, etc [especially if excess weight is stored around the abdomen]
2. Excess weight puts pressure on joints, resulting in an increased risk of arthritis
3. Obesity can lead to low self esteem, confidence, etc thus impacting adversely on mental health and increasing risk of mental illness

For structuring your response:
write the number and then your point [go straight to the point]
then the next number and next point.

make sense?

thanks it does so,
so for hypertension you would say,

Heart and Kidneys have to work harder and blood flow may be restricted.
Contributing factor to many conditions such as CVD, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.
