Chances of getting into a course with SEAS?

Hey guys i was wondering if yous can please help me out.
I want to get into Latrobe Uni doing 'Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Paramedic Practice' at bendigo. The clearly in ATAR for last year was 81. I got an ATAR of 79.25. However I have applied for SEAS in Category 1 Personal Information and Location, Category 3 Difficult circumstances, Category 4 Disadvantaged financial background.

I already know that I receieve a bonus 10 aggregate points due to coming from a rural school. Which should allow Latrobe to view my ATAR as 85.25 (based on this http://www.vtac.edu.au/pdf/aggregate-ATAR.pdf). I should also receive more aggregate points based on categories 3 and 4 due to death of close friends and illnesses in the family as well as receiving centrelink payments.

So what do you think the chances of me getting into this course are?

From all the info for SEAS, I reckon you have a really good chance. Given that you're positive you have 10 more aggregate point, you should be good just from that.

Yeah i know I defintly get a bonus 10 aggregate as I am considered to be RA3, based on this info:

For special entry and access applicants a bonus will apply to applicants whose home postcode is classified as RA2 or higher, using the Australian Standard Geographical Classification ASGC postcode classification system. (e.g. Bendigo, Wodonga, Shepparton, Mildura would all qualify for a bonus.)

VTAC applicants should apply through SEAS Category 1: Personal Information and Location.

Bonus aggregate points: 5 aggregate points for regional students applying to courses at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. 10 aggregate points for regional students applying to courses at Bendigo, Albury Wodonga, Mildura and Shepparton.

Thanks for giving me a bit of relief man, anyone else have any more input?

I think you should be fine for that course!!

I'd say the maximum you can increase is 25 aggregate points given you are in three categories:
Code: [Select]
Maximum bonus
Where an applicant is eligible for multiple bonuses, the maximum aggregate bonus which any applicant may receive is 25.

If you recieved an ATAR of 79.25 it would be boosted like so:

79.25 = 139.5
139.5 + 25
New Aggregate: 164.5

Equivalent ATAR: 92.35

I'm not sure whether you would be guaranteed the full 25 points, but given the La Trobe SEAS scheme, it seems you get an extra 10 points per category if accepted! So you should be sweet.

i think you have a very good chance of getting in.
even though your atar is low with everything else you have you will be one of the first to be accepted below the clearly in.

may i suggest looking at vtac application numbers to see how many people applied to this course compared to last year, there may be a major decrease which could lower the atar you never know!
