What are some of the hardest training sessions you've done?

Rode 100 hilly kilometers on my road bike.

And ran 33km from my hometown to one adjacent and back again.

Other than those, I run up a downhill mountain bike track which is 6k's up so 12 total obviously, not quite endurance but still very taxing.

Sweet, what type of road bike do you have? I've done 5 hours in the hills that was pretty bad lol.

Running, I'm not a runner but I did a 14km, 33km is awesome! I wish I could do that but my knees suck :(

My swim sessions probably like 12x200s butterfly when I was 12, 5 x 1000 in the pool timed or 10km race open water.

Where abouts do you run?

I've just got an Avanti Vivace, actually took it all apart today, am sanding it up and painting it all Matte Black and getting some 50mm clinchers off ebay :)

Ok cool. Yeah I do a bit of swimming too for my Triathlon training. 10x400m sets with 1 minute in between is about as hard as it gets for me! By far my worst leg in the tri!

I live in Bairnsdale so got running up Mount Taylor. Otherwise we have about 10km of river tracks, or I just run on the road around town.

Oh nice bike. Yeah I do triathlon as well, but I wish I had come from a running background. Practically all elites come from running which sucks :(

Yeah true. I'm no elite but have definitely come from a running background.

A bad swim only leaves you a few mins behind, depending on the race you can sit in the bunch on the bike (even in non-drafting bunches are allowed, just not so tight knit), but on the run you are very exposed and can lose heaps of time, hence why most elites often come from running backgrounds.

Yeah back in Year 11 when I was riding a lot more I would go at 6, not only because I had school but also because it's very rarely windy in the morning. Riding in the wind sucks!

Yeah, even a small breeze slows you right down! Bike riding is fun though, my bike isn't meant for extreme riding. It's the cheapest good bike you can get :P Not a K-mart bike! It's a HASA Comp D. I'd ever even heard of it until I went to the bike shop and saw it.

I raced on a hasa r2 until I got a trek madrone around October last year. I think I did around 20,000+Kim's on my hasa and my brother uses it now and it still works awesome. They're good for their price

300 I got mine for. But I think the derailleurs have gone sour, I need to adjust them :( Probably because I didn't clean them well after I went bashing in the mud.

Hey CH3ezEC4KE, what Madone do you have?

When I'm on big bucks my dream is to do a Trek Project 1 bike, I've wasted so many hours on that site building up dream bikes!

I seriously can't understand why these bikes are so expensive. I mean, you can get 300cc, even 650cc sports bikes for cheaper than these. And we're talking rugged, you can get off road 4 stroke motorbikes even cheaper!

They make a massive profit off these don't they?

I know it's in the 4 series, but otherwise not sure. Retails at $3200 but got it for $2000 :')
Yeah I've also made so many bikes on their website using cancellaras Spartacus and disc wheels. If only...

They're expensive but it's how most bike shops get money. Because of online shopping and sites like wiggle and chain reaction cycles, it's getting harder for local owners to sell bikes. Though local bike shops are usually happy to lower prices as they try to get repeat sales.
