Well I got through to Melbourne Uni and they took all my details/ student number and results.
They said that they would send it to this department http://futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/admissions/entry-requirements/selection-appeals
And that they would get back to me tomorrow or early next week! He said that this is why they have second rounds, because mistakes can be (and are sometimes) made. So hopefully it is a mistake on their behalf

I called Melbourne Uni today and I asked them if I was going to be considered for second rounds for science and  they told me no!! I seriously don't know why they said this, I was eligible under two categories underrepresented school and dis financial background and my atar was 90..mmmm :o I guess either science or environments will lead me to civil eng so meh!

Hey jeremyksmith, what exactly did you say to them? Do you think it is worth me calling and asking why I didn't get into biomed?

I just said to them that I was supposed to get a guaranteed offer due to SEAS and Access Melbourne and that I had met all the requirements and they said a mistake could have been made as it seems I should've gotten an offer. And in that case I would receive a second round offer. They said they would get back to me today or Monday

If for instance you're eligible under the disadvantaged financial background and underrepresented school categories, should I be able to receive a second round offer?

It makes you eligible but not necessarily successful.

If you do think something has gone wrong, make sure you call them!
In the end Melbourne uni admitted fault to a clerical error and I will be offered a 2nd round offer.
Not ideal seeing as I have to wait 3 weeks to find out if I got into college...

Hey jeremyksmith, what exactly did you say to them? Do you think it is worth me calling and asking why I didn't get into biomed?

You can get into med doing science with the same chance as someone in biomed anyway. And science is much more flexible compared to biomeds rigid structure. So, if you don't get into biomed, don't worry.  I'm still considering doing Science, as I applied for a negotiated offer and it was accepted.  I think the flexibility and freedom is really appealing and will allow me to experience subjects form various science areas and then I will have a better idea of what I want to do.  But, I am still really unsure. :/
