Yes.  Just make sure you meet all the pre-requisites (if any).

In order to get your degree you need to accrue enough credit points for each level breadth.

2013-2015: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Microbiology/Immunology: Infections and Immunity) at The University of Melbourne
2016-2019: Doctor of Medicine (MD4) at The University of Melbourne

There is a limit of 37.5 credit points for level 1 subjects (3 subjects). The rest must be at a Level 2 or Level 3. You can choose to not do a Level 3 breadth if you don't want to like I did.

If 2 Majors take up 16 subjects, does that mean that you have 7 breadth and 1 arts foundation?  I read somewhere that you can only do 5 breadth over the duration of your course??

Also, on some of the sample arts sequences, there are breadths and electives.  What is the difference and are electives compulsory or can you just do more subjects from your major?

Breadths are compulsory in that you will need to complete at least 4 subjects from another faculty other than Arts (2 of the breadth components are freedom of choice so you can do Arts subjects instead if you wish). Elective subjects are basically the subjects that you have left over if you already have the required subjects to complete the double major. You can elect to do extra subjects from the majors you are doing or choose subjects that are part of a completely different major if you wish. It's up to you.

Is it possible to do no level 1 subjects at all? And do level 2&3 only?

Yes, but generally alot of Level 2 subjects will require a Level 1 pre-requisite.
