CRASH... accidents as an L plater

So, I had my first little accident today. :-\ A lady decided to bump into the back of the car... fortunately, she was nice enough about it all.

Have others had many other similarly traumatic collisions on their Ls?

I scraped some paint of a guy's front bumper on a roundabout. In my defense he came too far out and it was my 2nd time driving and didn't know how to hit the brake. It was my right of way so he didn't complain much.

Not a crash but in my first time driving I drove around a roundabout the wrong way around because I panicked with turning :/ luckily no one was coming from the other side

My dad totally flipped and we had to stop the car so he could have a cig break

^No1 stops at stop signs other than during the test anyway. Especially not for 3 seconds unless there's oncoming traffic.

You'd be fucking stupid to not stop at a stop sign. Stop signs are there because there are dead corners, the only way to see if there is oncoming traffic is to STOP and look.

Similar is true for Give Way, those are usually fine as you can see oncoming traffic before you reach the corner, but they are essentially like stop signs if you have a car in front of you: if you are looking for oncoming traffic, chances are the guy in front will break and you will hit him.

^^I've had that happen to me once. Guy behind me was too busy checking out the highway, and didn't realise I had stopped. His radiator ended up getting pierced by my toll bar, ~$3k damage to the front of his car, $0 to me.

I got through L's fine, but I had a crash 2 months after I got my P plates. It really teaches you to look twice when entering a roundabout...

Actually, there was this one incident, not so much an accident. I was in NSW (I live on the border) and I was driving 110km/h because that was the limit, and a cop pulled me over. I was freaking scared and turns out L platers are not allowed to go over 80km/h in NSW. I was really concerned because I hadn't changed my address on my license but luckily he gave me a caution for the speeding and let me off because I didn't know. And when he was doing a breath test, I knew I didn't have alcohol but I kept thinking what if the breathalyser was screwed up.

The breathalyser is always scary, even as a passenger I get scared...
