Melb Science Round 2 Offers - Missed R1 by 0.05

Hi,

I missed out on getting a round 1 offer for Melbourne Science by an ATAR of 0.05. The 2013 Clearly-in Rank was 91.95 and I got 91.90 I'm kinda panicing now about a second round offer. I tried calling Melb Uni for 20 minutes but no one answered. So what are my chances? Do many people actually reject their offers for Melb Science?

Another thought/question is that if a place does free up, would they give it to a negotiated offer student who has an ATAR higher than me?

Assuming you've met all other prerequisites, I'd say that your chances are quite good (assuming there are places available).

Yeah I've met all of their prerequisites. Worried about how many places will actually free up though; and if the majority of them will go to negotiated offers... :S

You'll likely get a 2nd round offer. I'd bet a couple of bucks on it.

Do you have SEAS? 

You'll likely get a 2nd round offer. I'd bet a couple of bucks on it.

If not, I could profit a couple of bucks from paulsterio.

I thought that second round offers at UniMelb are for SEAS students only.

I do but it's a medical one. It seems that according to 'Access Melbourne', they primarily focus on #1 - Disadvantaged financial background #2 - Applicants from rural or isolated areas

Not really, if you have submitted a SEAS application and supplied all the evidence correctly, then all Access Melbourne applicants are looked at independently.

They do for both, but in second round, they only consider Access Melbourne (SEAS applicants).

I was in a similar situation last year, but didn't get one. You never know though..
