when asked to draw an organic product of an esterification reaction, and the reactants are already given, are we required to draw the products showing all bonds, or can we just draw it in the same form that the question was given in?  :-\

I guess it wouldnt hurt to draw it by "showing all bonds".  unless you draw it wrong of course.
Depends on the question really.. Did they ask you to draw the "structures" of the organic product?

draw suggests you need the full structural diagram

otherwise they would have said "write"

They usually say "Show all bonds" when you need to show all bonds. Otherwise (At least from the practice exams I have done) you don't need to show all bonds.

Does that mean we also expand the OH. Molecules look so ugly when the OH is expanded. gaaah my mind is screwed.

Well i've been practicing expanding OH molecules since the start of the year, and now I think unexpanded molecules look wrong, go figure...

yeah after this year ill never go back to the old ways of simply -OH
and irena from tsfx also stated that hydrocarbon chains should be drawn in a zig zag manner for safety
