I had the right answer for the LED on/off quetion, but changed it later, very pissed off. Apart from that, I think I was fine, but probably lost a handful of marks elsewhere due to dumb mistakes. Wasn't expecting VCAA to follow up a straightforward exam like last year with an even more straightforward exam. What do you guys think the A+ cutoff will be?

EDIT: After looking at the Itute solutions, it looks like the only marks I lost were those LED ones(assuming my explanation responses were fine). Why do I feel like I'm setting myself up for a big fall by posting this  :idiot2:

That question I got wrong :P

I think the cutoff maybe 84/90

yep....82 or 81 /90 -->hopefully we can get an A+ (praying that the state didn't find the exam accessible)

It's still a little early to tell what percentage but when the graded distributions come out, we'll be able to roughly tell.

6 people got 90..?

Must've been a relatively easy exam.. and you'd think the cut-offs would be pretty high this year.

My sister reckons she did very well.

All that she knows she got wrong so far is one MC and that Off/On question. (She wrote On Off Off On On On..instead of Off Off Off On On On...She was debating with herself whether to write on or off for the first box LOL).

My sister is expecting an A+. :D

Lol, that happened to a friend of mine, he missed two whole pages of electronics. 7 marks out the window.

They're probably going to make the Unit 4 exam hell (a bit like Unit 3 Chem) to try and separate the field since this exam was relatively easy

I think that's what people thought last year too........but the A+ mark ended up being 1 mark lower and the number of 100%s doubled. http://vcaa.vic.edu.au/vcaa/vce/statistics/2008/section3/vce_physics_ga08.pdf

honestly, unless they make it very very long they can't do much because parts of Unit 4 Physics are sort of introductory and very incomplete. Eg. for interactions of light and matter we learn about a few experiments and the deductions we can make from them and a few calculations but as we don't go deep they tend to ask questions on those same experiments which we presumably know very well by the time of the exam.

That said, this is from looking at last year's exam, maybe they had a harder one a few years earlier

yeah that's exactly what i did  for the LED question. It was worth two marks. do you guys think that people did the same thing would get at least one mark for that question?

You would lose 1 mark for that question.

They have already written the Unit 4 exam when they were writing this exam
