Lol, no. I'm pretty sure that counts as cheating!   :o However, the last question is an "essay type" question, worth 7 marks or something like that.

Also, thushan, you're not in year 12, are you?  ???
Woah, is it seriously? How did you find out?
A 7 mark essay type question? The only thing i can think of with that, is talking about equilibrium principles.

Yeah, the practise ones I've seen are equilibrium and Le Chat's principles as well as vol. analysis and the structures of a protein. Could be anything though, when you think about it.
If you don't know the answer to a question, chances are it has something to do with changing the surface area to volume ratio or resonance.

It's in the sample VCAA exam; that one is worth 6 marks though and it's come up in a lot of resources which adhere to the current study design.

Look, it seems like that extended question or whatever will be a bit difficult to prepare for, given the lack of information and resources. We'll just have to suss it out on the day. But don't stress about it - just think it through clearly and you'll know what to do. I'm sure that it's not impossible.

I think he means that we only have one sample VCAA paper to go off. Every other resource (including the AN book) is basically an attempt to emulate the sample paper. Only VCAA knows what they want to assess in the 6-mark questions, and the only thing we (AN, NEAP, etc.) can do is guess what they might ask in these questions and write questions accordingly in our books.

Actually, just on that note, after doing the AN chem practice exams I asked my teacher if it could be an essay-ish type question, and he said it would only ever be a critical analysis of experimental design. Not that I can doublecheck on the SD because of this bloody 503 error >:(

If that's the case, I might consider changing the questions for the next print runs. I have a couple of experimental design questions in there, which I'll keep.

I checked the study design prior to this, and it didn't specify what kind of extended response question they will have. There is a chance that it could be only critique of experimental design, but there is a decent chance it may not be. I don't know yet, I'll want to see what's on this year's VCAA exam before judging.
