LOL! We have like a system called "PaperCut", and its linked to our school login. Sometimes in the library, some people print on other people's accounts when that student goes to collect their printing (which is at the other side of the library). :P

I guess some people don't realise that there is a "Lock this computer" function. :P
We have the same thing!!
But OMG I hate how it gives you statistics on how many trees of paper you've used!

I'm a murderer :'(

I guess you guys are gonna hate me over how I can print for free? :P Well that is up to a certain mysterious number of pages that I have yet to reach... after that, I think they send you a nice bill for doing the honours of emptying the toner.

Didn't know so many of you had to pay for printing at school!

I know right! It makes me feel guilty, every time I log into it.  :'(

And even the bit about the amount of carbon dioxide or something being emitted. =/

Are you allowed to transfer money to another student's account? I used to be able to at my old school (Had the same system), but its disabled at my current school. :P

That's actually quite scary, especially if you do a lot of printing in one go. =/

haha yes! I've never actually tried to transfer money (no need, I don't think anyone EVER runs out of printing allowance. ever.)

Well in VCE we get a budget of $50 per term at 5c per sheet... I've never used up all my printing money in a term! (even when I had the great idea to print out like 30 practice exams plus solutions haha)

I've got the same thing as Damoz "PaperCut". My school I think is 5c for a black and white, 25c for a colour. It's ridiculous really.

25c for colour? Thats a big jump in price from black and white. =/

I think its roughly 15c for us.

We don't even get assigned printing credit for the year. You can purchase a $5 "voucher" to redeem via papercut and that stays in your account.

Okay, well now thats worse than our school. =/

Once we finish our $20 credit, we have to buy $10 vouchers and then redeem them. I finished my $20 credit in Term 2. =/

Oops....Didn't realise how fast it went down.  :-[

My school's mentality: If we tell you the limit to what you can print, everyone's just going to print right up to that limit.

I guess since we don't know, we're supposed to be more careful but I'm not too sure whether the students at our school actually care or are even aware for that fact. We pretty much take free printing for granted.

I guess your school has A point.

Hasn't anyone reached the "limit" and then got billed? Then everyone would know then what the limit is. :P

That's basically it, that no-one as far as I know has been shot by the school for printing too much. I've heard teachers copping it since they sometimes print practice exams for classes at a time, but I reckon since you're a teacher they probably would waive it (and I suspect they're actually part of a plot to intimidate us to print less).

All in all, our school has never really taken charging for printing too seriously, unless you use the library photocopier which can do A3 THEN you have to pay, but no-one uses that so it's all good.

Oh okay. Fair enough I guess.

I guess it could be pretty fun though, playing the "Guessing game", but then it wouldn't be fun or funny when you get invoiced. :P
