For me, for subjects like Business, Further and English, I'm happy to study for. In that I enjoy those subjects because I feel I do well in them and I understand everything. However when I think about methods and chemistry, I just can't be bothered, and I can't bring myself to sit down at a table with work from those subjects when lets face it, there's so many other things that we could be doing.
That's essentially what separates people like me from the true hard workers, I know what I'll wish I did study right now maybe a week or two into school, but right now, I can't seem to do it. I mean, I'll get it done sooner or later, but I wish it was more progressive than a last weekend bulk homework sesh.
But. #Y O L O
I read this and it sounded a lot like me at the beginning of the year. I can understand what you mean about Methods. In fact, at the beginning of the year I neglected studying for methods because I didn't feel motivated to do it. I thought, "what's the point, all I need is a 25 blah blah blah." I would essentially tell that to myself all the time. So, because I neglected doing homework, I'd always be forced to catch up on the content two days before a SAC. After receiving my first SAC mark on 70% I was pretty shattered, since I knew that if I did spend extra time studying hard I could have at least achieved a much better result, especially since it was the topic I enjoyed the most last year. Anyways, after being told by several people on IRC that I needed to start dedicating at least an 1 hour a day to methods because what I was doing was giving up - since I thought it was kind of pointless to try in a subject like methods.
After being told off for my laziness, I started working harder. I got a fresh new book (2 actually) one for notes and the other for questions. So, skip to my next SAC(analysis task) which was broken up into a project and a test under test conditions. I ended almost full-marking both, however, I ended up loosing a mark in part 1 of the SAC (39/40 or 19.5/20) and part 2 (19/20). For my very last SAC, I've haven't received my results yet but I know for sure it's going to be a better score than if I had neglected the subject.
In saying that, I'm still a remarkably lazy. Sometimes I'll skip questions just for the simple fact I'm not motivated. It takes time to just change your habits, however ultimately it's up to one's own willingness to exert change and work harder. All I can suggest is that you start taking it slowly, in fact maybe start from scratch. You need to force yourself to start working harder and eventually, you'll learn to actually enjoy it since it's quite rewarding once you've completed a set question. Well, that's my motivation.
I know of a girl who has a piece of paper stuck on her bedroom door and all it says is 99.95. She wakes up every morning to that and that's where she gets her motivation from. Find something that will motivate you to work, such as: SAC scores, people telling you off, etc etc. In the end, it what's you do NOW and how you decide to fix your work habits which could have drastic results on you ATAR. The way you decide to apply yourself to those subjects will definitely be the defining factor between receiving a high 90 to a low 80 ATAR.
Just so you know, everyone on here is always willing to help. We're here for each other. So make sure to abuse that Methods and/or Chemistry thread if you need help!

Take care though. I honestly hope you can initiate change, because I'd like to see you get the results you're after. Good luck for the rest of the year.
P.s: I'm on my phone, so hopefully what I've said is coherent.
