By "chem" you mean "Potions" right? I don't believe Hogwarts offers "chemistry" ;) And by "gene manipulation" I'm assuming your Potions master must be dabbling in some Transfiguration assessments?

Just had a flood of SACs, with one more to go this week. From now on, there'll be something important every week up until term 3 break, so i guess that means I'll be really busy. Or how my teacher put it, "goodbye weekends" :(
On a more positive note, I think I've started to find my mojo again! It's slowly coming back, and in good timing too, so that's good :)
Oh, and exams in less than almost 2 and a half months! :S then, FREEDOM :D

There is no such thing as motivation when you're studying for English.

The fact that it counts as one of your top 4 is pretty big motivation to at least *try*..?

I think it depends on what you get, from memory mine was scaled down 0.2 or something tiny.

The exact scaling varies from year to year and is dependent on the mark range, but generally English does get scaled down a little. The scaling report is not exact (scaling is actually done to two decimal places iirc), but should give you a general idea.

How's everyone travelling? :)

Just got over a wave of SACs myself. =_= At least it looks like all my subjects will finish early or just on time. I wasn't too pleased with my English text response SAC last Friday on On the Waterfront because both of the topics on offer were really difficult. Hopefully it all pans out well. This term also seems to be fairly full-on in terms of the workload. Otherwise, I'm travelling well. :)

I get a four day weekend this weekend as a 'last chance' to take a break before exams. Although, the teachers expectedly mount us up with a pile of homework to do. -.-

I feel you mate - my recent Spesh SACS have simply drained all sense of motivation out of me, as well as severely suppressing my self-esteem  :P

We just had our four day weekend and it did not feel like a weekend at all lol!
And yeah we'll be finishing our subjects pretty early too - Spesh is due to finish next friday, and Chem the Friday after :D
