My chem Y12 class is going to (I think?) Latrobe University, or Melbourne? For spectroscopy, is that normal; or should I feel special :o

My school did it at RMIT, couple of very fine PhD students xD

I'm not sure whether to start a new thread for this but how different is Uni chemistry to VCE? I'm thinking of taking it this year but there were aspects of VCE chemistry that I didn't enjoy a whole lot. Also, the pracs were boring as hell

I didn't do VCE chemistry except I can tell you about uni chemistry. I mean, i've heard it's a big step up from vce chemistry and it is quite challenging at times but I found it all pretty interesting. Our pracs aren't too bad, depending on your demonstrator. They just have to be timetabled at the right times during the week.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

What do you mean 'timetabled at the right times'? Like on days when you don't have a bunch of other classes? :p
I don't think I have too much freedom in that cause of my other course choices.

We had our spectroscopy etc excursion to Monash and it was during O-week :p, so yeah free beer (and food) for the class haha. Best excursion ever.

Offtopic: I'm referring to timetabling the pracs at the right time for you during the day, whether the morning or afternoon. I found that sometimes the prac sessions were draining after what seemed a long day of lectures etc.
